As a person who's been a QA Engineer for 3 months I can say this is pretty accurate. However always keep in mind that each company and managers idea of what QA is and what responsibilities they are responsible for is different. Communicating expectations seems to be incredibly important.
Also I've seen a surprising amount of QA discussion on tildes and made a Matrix Room for tildes QA people if anyone is interested in having a place to chat/discuss.
