I guess I'll kick off the discussion. I've always thought this was a fantastic idea and it's really important to know the reliability of news sources. Problem is that the people that need this most aren't going to seek it out and pay for it. I know it has to produce value for the company somehow, but this doesn't seem like the way to go.
I couldn't agree more about people not wanting to pay for it. Personally, I've been using a couple of different sites to fact check what I read online so that I don't unintentionally propagate...

I couldn't agree more about people not wanting to pay for it. Personally, I've been using a couple of different sites to fact check what I read online so that I don't unintentionally propagate false information. The sites I use to check include the following:
FullFact
PolitiFact
MediaBiasFactCheck
FactCheck
LeadStories
Hoax-Slayer
TruthorFiction
AllSides
Snopes
It's definitely not as "easy" or "convenient" as having an extension do it though.
