This round is larger than all of Stack Overflow's previous fundraising combined. Previous to this round, they had raised a total of $68 million of venture capital in 4 rounds over the last 10 years.

This looks to me like (more of) StackOverflow going down the drain from a developer usefulness point of view. I don't know what their financials were before. (I know they had some layoffs after the documentation debacle, but that just seemed like a canceled project.) But once they changed the home page from being useful for developers to being an ad to buy their enterprise software, everything started going to shit. This seems like a continuation of that.

That said, I enjoy the StackOverflow format. I've stopped visiting the site regularly or contributing because of all the BS over the past year. We use their enterprise product at work, and it works as advertised. (But I'm in a very large org where it makes sense. I'm not sure it would be worthwhile in smaller orgs.)
