Are mentions automatically detected?

New user. Trying to see if @manascii mentions get automatically detected. Or, do I have to enter the link manually?

Mentions do get automatically detected and the notification effect triggered, but just FYI the effect doesn't yet trigger in topic text, only in comments. And worth noting is also that...

But this one will, @manascii, which I have done so you can see it in action. Even though I replied to myself you should still see this comment in your notifications.

Oh yeah! I see the notification. Thanks! I'm sure this had been said before, but I really like this ~test sub. Great way for new users to get oriented.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of ~test too... especially since it allows me to make sure my markdown is correct before submitting stuff to the main groups so I don't look like a durn fool for messing it...
