Honest question... what is the point of this? I don't quite understand why it's necessary since you can already set your account default in the Tildes settings (select a theme, then click 'Set as account default'). And you can even set a different default theme per device, since the Tildes cookie remembers the last theme you picked, even if you set the account default to something else.

Edit: Just tested, and the site remembers the last theme selected even for logged out users. So now I'm even more confused about the purpose of this.

See my edit (which I made before I saw your reply). Everyone, even logged out users can change their Tildes theme at the bottom of the page. And I just tested it, and Tildes remembers the last theme a user selected, even when logged out. So when returning later it should still show that same theme to the person until they change it again, or delete their Tildes related cookies.

I guess this makes sense for people that automatically delete cookies after closing a tab though.

For people just browsing, if they don't know, r/tildes is freely distributing invitations right now and the email address is invites@tildes.net

I would think that anyone putting in the effort to use a script could just as easily email Deimos for an invite, and probably already did it...

This kind of thing can be harmlessly disseminated without interrogation imo, if it’s not useful to the majority that’s fine, but doesn’t make it worthless. I’ll be making good use of it tho, so thanks to OP for taking the time to share.

My question wasn't meant as an interrogation, or an accusation of the script being worthless, and my "honest question" preface wasn't sarcasm or snark. I really was just genuinely confused about the purpose of the script since Tildes remembers a user's previously selected theme, even when they view the site logged out, and/or don't have an account. However I now realize it can help people who regularly delete cookies, or view the site in private browsing mode. But sorry if it came across as if I was interrogating or attacking you or the script idea though, @Fishtail_Parka. That was absolutely not my intention.
