    I'm not opposed to the idea, but it's also not something I'd prioritize working on. I'd suggest installing a CSS customization extension like Stylus, and you can use that to easily make tweaks...

      I assume the OP is talking about the way that the background color behind links switches between white & light grey, at least in the default color scheme.
