Metadata missing on ~music listings?
I just noticed today that in ~music, the "topic-info-source" metadata isn't visible in listings; it shows the author name instead. Clicking through to the post it's clear that it's been scraped, it just doesn't get a site name or favicon.
eg: Youtube link on ~movies versus Youtube link on ~music
Is this intentional? It sorta makes it look like everything on ~music is a text post.
It's intentional that the user submitting a topic to ~music (and ~creative) is listed instead of the site name, since in those more "taste based" groups the submitter is often more important, and useful to know, than elsewhere on the site. And when it comes to ~music, the band name is always included in the title for topics anyways, so it would be pretty redundant to include that in the displayed topic listing as well.
Makes sense. I just scan for the favicon to see if the link I'm about to click will make noise or not. I realize the metadata does say "video" but I've somehow trained myself to look for the youtube icon instead. When I see an author name in the site field, I automatically assume it's a text post and will not link to another site.
Yeah, I can see how that could be a bit confusing at first glance. I originally suggested having both the submitter and siteinfo listed for submissions in those groups, but with such limited space on mobile I don't know if that's really feasible.
