You know you're on the right track when you're watching high-speed rail news recap videos with 2400 views. They're the real ones. "Stew's News," a series run by up-and-coming transit YouTuber Lucid Stew (4.31k subscribers), covers monthly happenings in United States high-speed rail projects. Stew also covers some of the embarrassingly slow-speed rail projects that pass for "higher-speed rail" in this country.
Stew seems to do fairly high-level analysis of these projects, providing info on convenient and tangible updates to projects pertinent to viewers, but also refers to Capital Outlay Budget Summaries and other slightly more "in the weeds" quantitative data about certain projects that I wouldn't have paid attention to on my own. As someone who does a lot of inter-city travel, content like this has value to me because it gives me a sense of where I might reasonably be able to get to by train in the future.
I kept wanting a single place to check out what's going on with the various projects in the U.S. in a fairly condensed format and have not found that. As a result, I decided to do it myself.

This month's video takes a quick look at construction, approval, and planning progress for HSR projects including: California High-Speed Rail (Central Valley, eventually San Francisco/Los Angeles), Brightline West (Los Angeles/Las Vegas), Texas Central Rail, Amtrak Acela (Northeast Corridor), Cascadia High-Speed Rail (Seattle/Portland/Vancouver), and Amtrak Lincoln Service (Chicago/St. Louis).
