This video is a quarterly report on the major construction activities of the California High-Speed Rail project. The CAHSR Authority is currently building track in the Central Valley of the state between the medium-sized cities of Merced and Bakersfield.

The goal right now is to finish construction around 2024-2026 (depending on the construction package) and run an "initial operating segment" between the two cities by about 2030 (they're procuring trainsets now, but it takes a while).

Eventually, the system will connect to San Francisco in the north (right downtown on the Caltrain right-of-way) and Los Angeles and Anaheim in the south.

The video is high-level because it's meant for a general audience. But I like to see the construction drone shots. I think we forget how massive some of these structures are.
