    An dramatic expose as a reporter rides along in a police vehicle and gets video of a car theft takedown. The officers surveil and plan how and when to pounce, and it ends in one arrest, but not before another officer is hit by a fleeing suspect and bounced off the windshield.

    Car thefts in Canada's biggest cities has taken a dramatic rise in the last few years, with the thieves "stealing to order" for organized crime groups. The thieves are usually young (and stupid) and get $500 to $3000 for the theft and the cars are often quickly taken to shipyards, put in containers and sent overseas for sale after a VIN swap, often in west African countries.

    It's gotten out of control and this is in an interesting report of how one police department is fighting back.
