There are very few places where hydrogen vehicles make sense to implement, but trucking is definitely one of them. While I don't see the technology taking off with ordinary cars due to availability, it's quite a lot easier to put a few hundred hydrogen refueling stations in select truck stops along popular shipping routes than it is to establish a distribution chain for hydrating the tens of thousands of gas stations currently in operation.

Aviation is another place where hydrogen makes more sense than batteries, and it makes me wonder what's more efficient: electric aircraft powered by hydrogen fuel cells, or regular jet aircraft retrofitted to burn hydrogen rather than kerosene?
