With most other binaural recordings, the microphone or dummy head are usually stationary. This recording was challenging as I tried to replicate a person getting on and off a train, therefore the recording rig was moving.
The subway was very crowded when I was doing this recording. People are really good at absorbing sound and this maybe the reason why it sound different from what you have imagined. Listening to this is not a multi-sensory experience and the sound would be understandable with some visuals.
