My partner and I were fortunate to visit Japan for a 2-week holiday right as the COVID outbreak began in China. We were blissfully unaware and had an amazing time.

I've since gotten into motorcycling, and I'd love to visit Japan again for a motorcycle trip someday.

YVW! Glad you enjoyed it. :) Want a ping when I post part 2? And damn, I'm jealous. I've never been to Japan, but it's absolutely on my bucket list.

The times I've been to Japan I've stuck to the major cities mostly, and that's been very satisfying. Honestly I don't think I have the stomach to venture into the countryside with not much more than a rented vehicle. I'd probably be afraid to even drive a car there, what with everything being mirrored left-to-right. Guess I'm not very adventurous!

Glad we have people like this going there for us and sharing the experience. Might give me a slight bit more confidence in trying a different kind of trip like that eventually. It does seem like there are lesser known gems to experience all over the country.

99.9% of Tourists NEVER visit here | Extreme East Hokkaido Experience ★ ONLY in JAPAN

Japan's last remote frontier is East Hokkaido is where less than 0.1% of tourists will ever visit. It's between Kushiro and Nemuro north to Rausu and Shiretoko National Park. Basically zero international tourists come - but we did! So - what's out here? Wild animals, amazing scenery, onsen hot springs, sea and mountains, friendly people who have never seen foreign tourists before! Oh, and the food is amazing!

With a Japanese RV Camper - the Robinson 106 - we set out for the great unknown. Join us on a road trip adventure sho winging off Hokkaido's most spectacular places you'll want to visit!

    Where'd we stop?
Obihiro - Nemuro - Cape Nosappu, Japan's Easternmost Point - Rausu - Shiretoko National Park - Teshikaga - Lake Mashu & Lake Akan - Ainu Kotan - Ashoro - Aoike Blue Pond, Biei - Furano Lavender - Yubari Melon Town and back to New Chitose Airport for the flight back to Tokyo.

I haven't played any of those Euro Truck Simulator games, but from this road trip I start to see why people are content playing those for hours on end. Especially with such little traffic in that corner of Japan, it was easy for my brain to switch to a zenlike mode, forgetting about everything and appreciating the scenery.

The onsen waterfall was a really neat spot. I can tell why that was one of the top highlights of their trip. The dairy farm was of course a must-visit for Hokkaido too. That looked fun. A lot of warm hospitality everywhere they went, as is the stereotype for Japan. Good vibes all around. Even when things go wrong, refreshing that they take it with a large dose of humor instead of letting it dampen the mood.

At the very end you can kind of feel their tiredness setting in, so was appropriate they just hit a few food spots on the last leg back to the airport.

These two videos were so soothing to watch. Lifted me out of my day-to-day in the best way. Thanks for sharing.

If you zenned out to that aspect of the video, I think you probably would enjoy Euro Truck. And yeah that hotspring waterfall is badass. The momma bear and cubs immediately after that was my favorite part though. That whole section reminded me of growing up in BC. Road trips through the Rockies, visiting the hot springs (Radium, Banff, etc), and gawking at wildlife on the roads, was a regular part of my childhood. :)

Thanks for sharing, I finally found the time to watch it. So much good food! I'll have to visit Japan again someday and travel off the beaten path.
