Oslo (Norway) restaurant/café recs?

Hey all!

My wife and I are waiting to board our flight to Norway to spend Christmas with her family in Sarpsborg. However, we'll be spending about 10 days there and spending out nights in a hotel in Oslo, so we'll def have time to ourselves without family obligations. If anyone (local or not) has recommendations for favorite restaurants or cafés, please share them here! Especially stuff on the cozy and cheap(er) end.

Beyond that, the some of my favorite cheap food places in Oslo are:

Cheap Italian I'm a fan of Vesuvio, Mamma Pizza or Girotondo.

For Asian food, Sabrura is probably your best bet for sushi, Hrimnir for ramen, Registan is Uzbek food, Far East for Thai.

Most Indian places in Oslo are good, but some are more expensive. I recommend Masala Politics, or ironically Jewel of India for more Pakistani food.

Albertine Spiseri is delicious and reasonable Turkish food (kebabs etc.). I'd go to Bobbos Pitstop for "Nordic" food.

Hot Temper for burgers and "American" food., Breddos for Mexican food.

Norwegian cafés are generally expensive. There are two genres: those who brand bakery and those who brand coffee. I'd go with pretty much anything that has "bakeri" in the title. You can't sell bad coffee in a country that's so addicted to the black magic and burns some of the best beans the world has to offer.

If there are special foods you like/want to try, or areas of Oslo you'd prefer, It'd be easier to give more precise recommendations for different types of food.

Ooh this is super great, thank you so much! We're staying in Grünerløkka but bc we live in Berlin atm anything vaguely in Oslo's city center seems close by since it's a much less spread-out city.
