well, we can't have a dead thread.

Slow Horses started tonight with two episodes. If you're not familiar, its based on the Slough House series from Mick Herron.

Slough House is a dumping ground for British intelligence agents who have screwed up a case in any number of ways. The "slow horses," as they’re called, have all disgraced themselves in some way to get relegated here.

It has Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb and the casting couldn't be more perfect. I mean, sure, you could cast Oldman as my mother for Christmas dinner and it'd be perfect -- but for Lamb, it's 10/10.

For movies, I just finished After Yang which was... just great. It's very much a slow-burn Colin Farrell indie film. He's really into those, and for good reason. There is a documentary referenced in the movie, All in This Tea. You can most likely find it on Kanopy through your local library.

This film follows world-renowned tea expert David Lee Hoffman to remote regions of China in search of the best handmade teas in existence.

I'm going to finally buckle down and watch Severance. I seem to be the last on board with this, but in my defence, I didn't know that its a Ben Stiller joint. He's got an excellent track record behind the camera.

Picard, Atlanta, and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty had great weeks. I'm still somewhat split on Picard, but this season is definitely an improvement.

The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey is also worth a watch, if you're in the market. Sam Jackson is crushing the role. The show isn't perfect, but its pretty good and has drawn me in enough to stick with it. I'd suggest keeping it for a binge or at least a daily watch, though. If you start now, you've got roughly a week to go through it.

Moon Knight also started and looks to be interesting. It's nice to see some lesser known properties coming out now. Nothing against the Avengers, but there's a lot more to ground to cover (e.g. casting Taylor Swift as Dazzler...)

Last, Tokyo Vice starts on Thursday (4/7) -- I don't know anything about it beyond the following

    • A Western journalist working for a publication in Tokyo takes on one of the city's most powerful crime bosses.

    • Ken Watanabe
    • HBOMax

We'll see how it goes :)

I started watching The Last Kingdom. My brothers both watched it, and I peeked into several episodes, but never sat down to it myself. The first episode was excellent which is honestly rare for a show, and I can't wait to see the rest of the show. I know it just published its last season, but it's one of the best first episodes I've seen.

A bit strong on relationships, but in current TV offering in the realm of hard hitting intense drama this show is like a breath of fresh air.
