With Bosch Legacy being pretty good, I was also looking forward to The Lincoln Lawyer, which takes place in the same book-universe. Anyway, The Lincoln Lawyer is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. Its like a dated early 2000s network show with a bad porn-music score, the absolute worst casting, horrible performances across the board, and... that's about it. The story is there, but everything else is total shit.

I started watching The Ipcress File, which seems like it'll be good, even though they seem to have a hard-on for Dutch angles.

As the Cold War rages, ex-smuggler turned reluctant spy Harry Palmer finds himself at the centre of a dangerous undercover mission, on which he must use his links to find a missing British nuclear scientist.

The Time Traveler's Wife also started this week. There's been a lot of criticism over the years about him grooming her and all that, but they seem to acknowledge it at once point in a scene where she's grooming a toy pony and he says something about her brushing the horse. She corrects him and says, 'no, grooming!' and he gives a little 'whoa there' response.

All in all, I think this series will be alright. The movie had mixed reviews when it came out. I liked it enough, but having a series will benefit the overall story.

The Essex Serpent started late last week and might be good. It stars Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes

London widow Cora Seaborne moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent. She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar, but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.

The Offer (sticking with the theme of The shows) is all about the creation of The Godfather and should be watched by everybody... but I don't know anybody who is into it. The casting is great once you get into the universe.

Last but not least, I'm not sure if everybody caught it, but there's a proper re-scan (etc) for Battlestar Galactica (2004) and it looks pretty good.

I recently watched Carnival Row on Amazon. The first half of the season was painfully slow, to the point that I actually almost stopped watching because of that. But the world was so incredibly interesting that I stuck with it on the hope it got better. And thankfully that patience was rewarded, since the pace really started picking up steam after that, and the show went from being merely okay to surprisingly intense and engrossing. And the direction things went by the ending was so good that now I'm desperately awaiting the second season.
