I binge watched Hacks. Beautiful show. I also recently learned that the creators of this show are also the creators of Broad City. I watched a few episodes of Broad City a while ago. I didn’t care for it. Very early 2010s show.

I will say this about both shows, they both feel very milennial (and I’m technically GenZ depending on who you ask). But there’s a certain maturity to Hacks that was lacking in Broad City. Not just in tone, but in the type of story that’s being told and the way the characters are written. It’s down to earth. And I love the juxtaposition between the way the younger characters talk and the way the older characters talk. Very realistic.

Edit: Also watched the first two episodes of Only Murders in the Building. It’s really good. That score is still brilliant. In case you were wondering why this season is premiering in the summer as opposed to the first season which premiered around October, that’s because Emmy voting is happening right now. Often shows that premiere earlier in the Emmy eligibility period premiere their second season during Emmy voting in order to stay in the conversation.

Only Murders in the Building is back -- and I guess this year has flown by. It feels like S01 only ended a few months ago. Anyway, it seems like more of the same, which is good. They really figured out the right level for Short, which was a problem in the first few episodes.

This series is neat because it has clues in the title sequence and stuff. I'm not sure there's enough to solve it on your own, but who knows.

Westworld is also back. S01 was great. S02 was okay, S03 was neat, but lacking... this season seems alright so far, but it doesn't have the magic or mystery of S01. I was hoping we'd stay in the LOST-style where we could watch an episode, spend the week obsessing over details, etc. Its nice to see Aaron Paul working, though. He's good for this role, too.

Has anybody been watching FAIRFAX? Its fun. It mocks influencer (etc) lifestyle.
