The peripheral is good. Also the mountain scenes were filmed near my hometown, and is meant to be set there i think, but apart from the scenery, the only believable culture is the mom. There are hippies around, but it will be quite some time before vaguely middle eastern looking fab geeks would feel comfortable opening a shop there. Ask me about ABC stores!
I have not read it, but a friend who has says the show is better than the book.
the Simpsons is pretty good again. It's gone a little meta, which is fun.
Gangs of London season two is worth watching if you liked the first season. It took a few episodes to get going, but once it did, it was solid gold.
I was really looking forward to SAS Rogue Heroes. It isn't bad, but the pacing is really off. I think they feel like they're making a coooool show, but it just isn't there. The scenes drag on for too long, the graphics etc are dated... but it might shape up. It just feels cheap and poorly edited.
The White Lotus is also back for a second season and should be good. I could watch Jennifer Coolidge all day, though.
Shantaram is going strong. I read the book after the first episode got going and really liked most of it. The series moves a lot of stuff around and combines others and makes up a bunch -- but its still enjoyable. Casting Charlie Hunnam is perfect. I hated Sons of Anarchy, but he's a natural for this sort of role.
Lastly, Stanley Tucci Searching For Italy is also back for a second season. I love this series. Its simple and to the point. Its Tucci going around italy, eating, and chatting people up. If you're looking for a little inspiration, it might be a good watch.
Thank you for finishing the series for me and confirming it doesn’t get better. I made it thru 1.5 episodes. Wheel of time was much better.
Tbf, watching rings of power was similar to my efforts reading The Silmarillion and various appendices. And I’m a guy who read technical manuals about the enterprise.
