Having played the game I was so stressed once they hit Kansas City and there was the road block. Still loved the moment when Joel floors the truck towards the guy pretending to be hurt. Although I felt a little let down they changed the dialogue. If I recall correctly it was originally "He isn't hurt", but they changed it to "Aren't you going to help him?" "Nope".
It's nice we're getting more depth with the Kansas City people.
I loved the first three episodes, but this episode felt weak. It may be because it isn't directed by the same people who directed the first three. The good Examining Ellie's exposure to violence....

The good
Examining Ellie's exposure to violence. It's implied she's hurt someone else before, but she's still nowhere as hardened as Joel.
Examining violence up close. The act of killing is not taken lightly; it clearly has a psychological price to pay.
The bad
There should have been a short montage of Joel and Ellie's journey from Boston to Kansas City. That would have better framed this episode and given us a sense of the passage of space and time. Instead it felt like they teleported 2/3rds of the way from Boston to Wyoming.
Kathleen was meant to be an ordinary person in an extraordinary position of power; her decision-making is corrupted by her vengeful impulses. So far she feels miscasted. She serves Karen from HR vibes; she doesn't sell me as a ruthless, deranged leader. People take her orders, but I don't feel that her people actually respect her.
Kathleen's motivations and actions don't connect clearly. She just keeps repeating the name of Henry. Who's Henry and why is he so important? How is a guy with a child desperately hiding in attics and with few supplies able to call in mercenaries to assassinate someone, as per Kathleen's theory?
Kathleen is just a weak character.
The director of this episode also directed ep 5, so I don't have high hopes for it. I hope the rest of the directors are better.

Agreed. Kathleen feels like a half baked TWD nemesis.
