Plus no remote signout, so if someone gets ahold of your credentials their support literally can't do anything. It happened to me and they told me to create a new account. Seems pretty terribly managed.

    Edit: added missing word

I was outraged by the ad thing. I signed up with the intention of keeping it 1-2 months to watch all of the new Star Trek shows (Picard was much better than the ill-conceived first season), and I paid for the higher tier to not have ads. From their FAQ on plans:

Watch with no ads for just $9.99*/month [...] Please note that live TV streams have commercials, and a few shows include brief promotional interruptions to keep you in the loop on new and upcoming Paramount+ programming.

The first thing that happened after choosing the plan that prominently said "watch with no ads" was I selected a show and immediately had three minutes of ads. Then the actual show failed to play and presented an error, so I had to sit through more ads for another attempt.

This is right up there with cellular carriers historical feigned-misunderstanding of the word "unlimited." No ads means no ads, not three minutes of Paramount trailers before the start of each episode.

Star Trek Prodigy is in an especially weird place since it's second season is in post, but both probably going to be sold to some other service (assuming it sees the light of day).

So it looks like it has been given the Warner Bros. / Discovery special. (Maxed out?) The team is still working on post production and are shopping around to other services.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies has been canceled after one season, Star Trek: Prodigy will not be going forth with its previously announced second season, The Game has been canceled after two seasons and Graham Norton-hosted reality series Queen of the Universe has been axed after two seasons.

All of these titles will be removed from Paramount+ with the studios planning to shop some of them to rival broadcasters and streamers.

When it was released I didn't bother watching it and wrote it off as a kid's show, but I binged it while sick and ended up loving it. It has some juvenile moments but it's bona fide Trek and has some impactful moments in the second half.

Same. Really loved this show and I hope another studio picks it up so we can see season 2.

Star Trek: Prodigy will not be going forth with its previously announced second season,

The new season will complete post-production, and the studio will be looking for a new home for Star Trek: Prodigy as season one comes off the service shortly.

So... which is it? They're going to complete second season of 'Prodigy' or they're not going to complete it?

I really liked this show, but the whole of the first season ended up being just a prologue. That's not a bad thing, but it meant the second season was going to take a very different direction. I was looking forward to seeing what would happen now that the kids are in Starfleet.

    EDIT:

Reading elsewhere... "Thankfully for the future of the show, post-production on the twenty Season 2 episodes will be completed"

So, Paramount is going to finish making Season 2, then hope to find a buyer for the complete series.
