Paradise season finale was sometimes really good but also quite dumb, as one might expect.
I actually laughed out loud at one point during the most recent episode of St Denis Medical.
We've been watching Pluribus and The Good Place, so I'm excited to catch up/finish (again).
The Pitt isn't as intense and enjoyable with subtitles and another person who doesn't speak English natively and thus doesn't understand everything medically.
I'm also watching Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water and I'm enjoying it, though I likely wouldn't enjoy it so much if I weren't viewing it as a precursor to Evangelion.
Finally, I need to finish Babylon 5, then maybe I'll start slowly again join in the Tildes watch threads.
I think I'm over my head in shows!
I mean subtitles or not the lingo is hard to follow if you’re not in the field so that seems a bit harsh. I think the “spoiler effect” of showing what they say a millisecond beforehand is reasonable critique against subtitles though.
It's not harsh; it's honest. Harsh would be "I liked this more before I had to watch it with you." It's okay to admit when something is lessened, particularly to Internet strangers.
Sure I’m just honest
Watching Breaking Bad with my son (my third time his first) and it’s just so fucking good. And difficult. We’re at the end of season 2.
God dammit the lying and gaslighting Walt is doing is really getting to me this time around. As someone who’s done my share of lying and the more popular omission of truth in my life it gets me hard now and suddenly seeing it from the perspective of the people around him is just devastating. It is really true what people say that every time you rewatch this show the sadder and harder it gets. But what a privileged watching it with my son and experiencing his reactions.
Finished the second season of One Piece. When I first started watching season 1, I had no idea what it was and had doubts that it would be something I like. It just seemed so ridiculous. It turns out ridiculous was just what I was looking for. I like the sets, wardrobe and hair and makeup. They are so wild just like the acting. Everything seems over the top and yet it works. I also think they did a good job of walking the line of episodic within an arc. I’ve been getting tired of shows being 8-10 hour long movies as it makes it hard for me to make the commitment to sit down and watch something. This show manages to give me, the viewer, time to breathe in between episodes. My only complaint about One Piece is that it’s only eight episodes and there are years between seasons. Another thing I’m hating about modern tv.
