I really hope they get everything together, this is one show I was hoping would do very well.
Ditto. And the show was absolutely fantastic too, IMO, especially the casting. But with the original showrunners gone, Gillian Anderson gone, now the new showrunner gone and the finale script on...

But with the original showrunners gone, Gillian Anderson gone, now the new showrunner gone and the finale script on its 7th rewrite mid production? I don't have high hopes for season 2, even if it ever does gets released. Starz really screwed the pooch with this one which is a damn shame. :(

When they left he was supposed to be made "co-showrunner" along with Jesse Alexander (who was just removed from the position) but that never came to pass. Gaiman is the showrunner for Good Omens now though, so how much he is or even can really afford to be involved in American Gods anymore is basically unknown. He did say in a tweet he would "work really closely" with the new American Gods showrunner, whoever that turns out to be, so I guess there is still some hope things will still turn out... but not much IMO.
So glad its BBC/Prime and not Starz. Also, when you mentioned it my immediate reaction was "but Terry Pratchett isn't around for it" so it's also great to see Narrativia and his daughter are...

Plus David Tennant as Crowley and Michael Sheen as Aziraphale. And yeah, given all the "right" people being involved in the production, I have really high hopes for Good Omens and am super excited...

Yeah, unfortunately she reportedly chose to leave after Bryan Fuller was shown the door... so I don’t even think she will even be in season 2 at all. And yeah it’s really a damn shame everything...

And yeah it’s really a damn shame everything seems to be falling apart, there are so many moments from the book I was really looking forward to seeing portrayed on the show, especially with Ian McShane playing Wednesday and Peter Stormare as Czernobog. :( Those two (and Mad Sweeney, too) have been absolutely perfect for the roles .

Didn't I hear that Gaiman is involved in the screenwriting?
So theoretically it still could work out ok.

Wait there just a second sir. There is a Good Omens show?
Indeed there is... or more accurately, soon will be. ;)
