This is a project I am cautiously excited about. I have wanted some gritty story set in the outer reaches of the empire for a long time either as a video game, movie, or TV show, so this sounds great. I am not a huge Fett fan, mostly because none of them seem to actually do all that much other than look cool, but I'm sure Favreau will be able to flesh out an interesting character here.
As this is going to come out on Disney's new streaming service in 2019, I am skeptical how much interest it will actually get, as it seems pretty clear that consumers are tired of needing to pay for a million different services to watch the shows they want.
Edit: I also dont know how reliable they are, but there are rumors that Pedro Pascal of Narcos / Game of Thrones fame may be cast as the lead, which if true has really piqued my interest.
FFS. I almost wish Disney would buy Netflix just so I wouldn't have yet another streaming service I need to subscribe to if I want to watch shows legitimately. I already pay for Netflix, VRV, Amazon Prime and Hulu, so have no desire to add yet another to my monthly bill just to watch another show.
"Looks like
meatPiracy is back on the menu, boys!"Yeah seriously. I don't know what is so hard for these titans of industry knuckleheads to grasp.
What is insane to me is that I, probably, have the money to pay for the Disney streaming service (assuming it's a similar price point to Hulu/Netflix/etc). However, I don't have an aggregated way to watch my services. If I had a single play where I could search and watch, I would...but as it stands, I have to flip from service to service and search on each to find what I want.
I don't need all these platforms and I don't need pay $10/month for 4 or more services. It makes no sense.
Sounds like we just stumbled on a $20 million idea. Too bad I don't know how to code.
