Not sure how long it’s out but I watched the first season 2 episode of The Mandalorian. The show just works. The setup is super oldschool, you could probably watch most episodes completely out of order (even though there definitely is a continuous plot). At the end of the episode I didn’t remember why he even went to Tatooine and... that’s ok. I don’t need convoluted plots with timelines twisting into knots. I just want Star Wars characters and environments that fit but don’t overshadow them. And it delivers!

Our hero is trying to find some other Mandalorians who would know who baby Yoda's people are. He chatted up Gor Koresh, who hunts Mandalorians for their armor, that he's heard of one on Tattooine....

I absolutely LOVED this episode. It's so nice to get a sort of Monster of the Week that contributes and draws from the overall universe.

The writers of this series are digging DEEP into the EU (both Legends and the new stuff), which is cool because it's making a lot of the Legends stuff canon.

This weekend the spouse and I watched Enola Holmes. It's a story about Sherlock Holmes' younger sister and their eccentric mother. It has a definitely feminist bent, centered around the women's suffrage movement in England. It stars Milley Bobby Brown from Stranger Things as the main character. Definitely worth a watch!

While that is definitely a cool movie, I don’t think it would work remotely as well without the superlative star quality of Milley Bobby Brown.
