this is so sad. He had a history of substance abuse and it seemed like he got his act together for a while. A shame to lose such a great actor who elevated everything he was in.

This is so sad. I enjoyed seeing him in other roles but nothing will ever live up to Omar. I'm not just talking about Michael K. Williams though. IMO Omar is still the best character/performance in TV history. Omar was a character that left a wake of chaos and destruction everywhere he went but Williams turned him into someone that you can sympathize with and actively root for every time he is on screen. I'd imagine there are quite a few users on this site (particularly those under 25) that haven't seen The Wire. If there is one show that every American person living in a democratic society should see, it's The Wire. RIP.

Here's my favorite scene with him (minor spoilers)

The Wire is perfect. If you're realllly into it, definitely get your hands on the commentary tracks. The tone of the tracks is all over the place, from almost clinical to comedic to absolutely heartbreaking in one instance*.

If you acquire the DVDs and rip them from there and decide to mux them in with the new transfers, there's a -2000ms delay, I believe.
