As for the movie, it was predictable, but I enjoyed it. My wife and I love Twister so we were definitely going to see it and a movie about tornadoes is better on the big screen. Not a fan of all the country music and there were definitely some cringey moments but it had some touching moments and didn't rely too heavily on the original.

Wtf? This is the dumbest thing I've ever read.

But there was something else in the ether working to Twisters‘ overperformance this weekend, and that was people’s need to escape from the house and be entertained following the tragedy of the Donald Trump assassination attempt, the former POTUS remaining the No 1 choice for U.S. President this November. As a movie marketing maven told us this past weekend about Uni’s campaign, “They sold fun”.

Wtf? This is the dumbest thing I've ever read.

My strategy with Reddit was to view r/all with SEVERAL low-effort and niche subreddits filtered out. Probably a thousand via Apollo. Then I would subscribe to the more niche interests of my own. That's probably what I would end up doing here.

I'm still very new, but so far I've only felt the need to unsubscribe from Anime and block the social media tag. I've enjoyed the variety of conversations on here. If the main groups stay as broad as they are now, it shouldn't be too difficult to opt out of them. Once they become more focused, then I'd spend a lot of time curating my experience.

This was exactly my problem as well. I quit my job in March.

I loved the job itself and a lot of the responsibilities involved, but there were people there that were more than happy for me to take care of things that should not have been my responsibility. I changed positions in 2020 and either kept my old responsibilities or had to jump in and save someone else who couldn’t handle it all the way up till the end.

I was also on track to start taking on more responsibilities that were technically above my pay grade and I knew I was never going to be compensated for it.

There are times where I question myself, but I definitely made the right decision. Towards the end there I had several conversations with my boss about how I could manage it but I eventually gave up and left behind the huge weight on my shoulders.

Striking the right balance between keeping work interesting but not overwhelming is key. I wish I could give some advice but I haven’t quite figured it out myself.
