Comment on I was Jordan Peterson’s strongest supporter. Now I think he’s dangerous in ~humanities
Arcticfox I completely agree. I didn't know anything about Peterson until this witch hunt started showing up in my various feeds. The more I delve into what Peterson actually said the more I see that there is a concerted effort being made to discredit him. The other posts in this thread really show how people are just believing what they want to believe irrespective of what is actually happening or what he actually says.

In the 11 year club on reddit. University faculty member (Computer Science, 15 years, retired) and industry practitioner (31 years). I have pretty much given up on reddit as being a place of meaningful discussion.
In my spare time I like to tend bees and do permaculture. Oh yeah, I also squeeze lumps of coal into diamonds using my bare hands. I'm still working on the first one.
I do have my own hive. I'm planning to get a second one because it is useful to be able to swap between hives if something goes wrong in one of them (eg. not enough honey in one hive to get the bees through the winter or if one hive loses its queen and you need to re-queen it).
In a poor year, a hive around here will typically produce about 20kg of honey. In a good year, anywhere between 40-60kg of honey.
Lots of people beekeep in cities by putting a hive in the back yard. Bees actually do pretty well in cities because of the amount of flowers that people tend to plant.
And just in case this is of interest to you, it takes about 1.5-2kg of honey to brew a gallon of mead! :-)
