    I used to play ED but stopped a couple years ago because it felt like there wasn't much to do in each of the respective fields (trader, miner, pirate, explorer). Each of the fields seemed exciting...

    I used to play ED but stopped a couple years ago because it felt like there wasn't much to do in each of the respective fields (trader, miner, pirate, explorer). Each of the fields seemed exciting at first then I realized there wasn't much else to do besides grind and it just felt very shallow. For example, if I was bounty hunting, all I would do is grind kills in asteroid belts not much else. Exploring was more exciting, but again it just became "pick a system, drop in, honk, scan planet, leave" over and over again. I was a kickstarter backer because I felt this game could be amazing and huge. But the lack of things to do made me really sad.

    Have there been any new additions that add depth and not just width to the game?

    "Did they even watch Hiso-Maso? The show clearly showed him failing at the cat-calling/pick up artist tricks, and him learning and growing as a person, from ignoring the advances of the shaman girls to literally saying that he doesn't just want to sleep with her but wants to "treat her right."
    The letter about train groping is gross and disgusting on a societal scale, but its just a letter. The only description people can give the author is "a friend of Abe." That's so mute and fails to display the governmental and societal culture as a whole.
    As far as the suit designer, he is shown to be an utter creep and the girls disgust and awkwardness is literally all that is needed to convey to the audience that what he's doing is not ok. Do you want people to put a giant PSA on screen saying in brass tacks "What he is doing is wrong. Do not do this at home."
    Finally, the show DID share a message about how requiring the young girls to perform the dragon ritual was wrong by having the main character stop it, and then have her shown to have done the right decision by staying alive at the end.
    PedaRoma is just looking for potentially controversial claims to make in great anime to get more clicks, and misrepresenting the shows in order to prove a point. Sort of like a certain Sarkeesian..."

    I haven't seen the shows in question so I can't tell who's telling the truth here. Is this redditor looking at things from a skewed view or did the YouTuber not do enough research? Just curious.

    I'll be honest, I don't see anything wrong with this idea. A lot of European and Asian countries already do this. Even Canada has stricter immigration laws than the USA. I like the idea of being the land of dreams for immigrants, but I don't think the USA is in a healthy enough state to take care of all of it's current citizens, let alone new non-contributing immigrants. Our healthcare could use a lot of help and our social security is running out.
