I think it boils down to the actions of individuals corresponding with overarching change over time. Maybe you and I are doomed for the "worst of it". But, with the collective actions of people, we can put in motion future change. It's unfortunate that we may not be able to benefit from the pieces we put into play, but there has to be some kind of satisfaction in knowing that our contribution is a positive one.

What you want to focus on and drive in is totally up to you. Even if you want to go the "optimistic nihilism" route: bettering yourself, your immediate surroundings, and things that affect you, also leads to a positive impact on others. Even if the enrichment of others is simply a side-effect rather than the target.

It's no secret that with the proliferation of available information, coupled with the fact that tragic/"doomer" stories are the ones that generate clicks and interest, we're going to be inundated with these types of stories in the media.

The 'easiest' thing to do is limit your time on these types of "news" sites and focus on what's happening in your immediate community. It might sound jaded or insensitive, but I, personally, don't have the capacity/mental stability to "care" about every horrible or unjust thing that occurs in my country (USA) or internationally outside of "major" incidents.

It's also important to remember that a majority of people, locally and globally, are living their lives peacefully and just trying to carve out their place in their communities. You should do the same! Pick up trash at your local park, volunteer at a place that needs it where you will also enjoy being, go to a show and support a local band, take a course a local community college that intrigues you, and that's just name a few! There is a lot you can do to elevate your happiness and overall engagement in your community.

You'll find that if you start engaging your mind locally, you'll be able to focus on the positives, not only in your life but in your community as a whole.

This "world going through it" is a consequence, in my opinion, of how the new outlets and media choose to portray the state of the world. That's not to diminish or say that bad and negative things are not present in our lives, but, I think the best way to combat that and to improve that state is if each individual in their respective communities got involved and try to make an impact that way! The collective action of these communities would in turn drive a cultural shift in general.

Of course, this is all highly idealized and not everyone has the luxury of just "getting out there and doing something to make you happy". But, it has to start somewhere, right?

I still can't figure out how to get the horse! I just see that I need to complete the Danen(not sure on the spelling here) Mount quest, but I don't see the option to complete it anywhere. lol

Currently have a lvl 40 barb and a lvl 12 sorc! I just get stuck on the main bosses tbh. I don't follow any builds on maxroll or other guides because I think part of the fun in D4 (and my favorite part of D2) was experimenting with "non-standard" builds. Like with my barb, I'm doing frenzy/double-swing. My strategy is to get my crit hit/chance, attack speed, and fortify all really high, and with the end goal of being able to maintain the berserker buff, to just be a no-hold-barred, tanky build. It does make bosses challenging (so far) because to maintain my buff I need to constantly be hitting to maintain the frenzy buff. That and my gear is lacking, as I think most peoples are in the early game. But I'm having fun being one of the few people running a frenzy/double swing/steel grasps!

Been playing a lot of Diablo 4 and TotK. I've been enjoying the creative and open-worldness of TotK, while enjoying the overall art and general vibe of Diablo 4.

I think TotK is a more polished game at the moment, which I think is to be expected from games like Zelda where it's strictly single player.

My biggest gripe with Diablo 4 is that you're in this big open world with other players like a MMORPG but there literally "community feel" yet. I ask for help on the server I'm on when I get stuck but there is never any response to help, or communication in general.
I'm talking into the air, it feels like. lol

I'm a geophysicist by day and usually, just turn into some kind of couch potato by evening. Currently enjoying the new D4 game.

I listen to a lot of music and enjoy walking around with my dogs. I don't live a very exciting life. lol

People are burnt out of the superhero films I think. I know I am. I think these Spider-Man installments are breathe of fresh air, both in terms of animation (and we're seeing a lot of copy-cats now with this style), and interesting story lines with the whole multi-verse thing.
I know the multiverse idea isn't new in itself, but the way it's done here is well done.

I really appreciate the diversity and representation in the movies as well. GotG isn't bad at this either, but the other Marvel films, when the characters are human, are just so....white? lol

This isn't the Tenka-Ichi-Budokai by I Hate Myself

    start-crossed by foxtails

You, In Weird Cities by Jeff Rosenstock

    Pale by Modern Color

Something about it just makes me want to start a band and scream, semi-melodically, into a mic. lol
