One day a long time ago, I went to college.
It was the first day, and it so happened that one of my friends happened to go to this same college, 1,000 miles away from home.
He said to me, "Wow, it's so different here. There are no social cliques, no cool kids and losers, we're all just friends." I was skeptical when he said this to me, as it was literally within the first hour of arriving on campus for the first time at an orientation picnic we went to while RAs hauled our stuff into our dorm rooms.
Well, a week later, after a bunch of events related to orientation and the first days of class, we all got to know each other well enough and, well, I don't think I have to tell you what happened next.
We all just showed up to Tildes' campus, but when everyone shows up and we all get to know one another well enough, rest assured that the same social dynamics you find elsewhere will show up here as well.
It's all about how our communities here get managed that will determine the ideas we end up encountering and confronting here.
