I loved every season, but there were some definitely better than others. They each have their own style and feel so if one doesn't hit for you, consider another. The latest was fantastic.

I think it's pretty rare for an easement to be non-negotiated. It's far more likely that you just weren't a part of the deal. When the first utility came through they paid off the then owner and saddled future owners with the easement.

Some jurisdictions may stipulate easements in new developments, but in that case the developer is probably negotiating with the utility owner and getting something out of the deal prior to selling.

    Hey everyone!

Another 15 year Reddit refugee (and Digg, Slashdot, and IRC, though not Usenet), here. I lurk more often than I contribute these days, mostly due to lack of time. Hopefully, I will be a benefit to this community when I do.

I'm a civil engineer who focuses on airports. Basically, I know how to tell a contractor to move, compact, and mix ground materials of various types and amounts so that planes can operate safely.

That said, my interests go well beyond dirt. I can find enjoyment in most things that take skill or effort; both the final product and the process itself. Technology, art, philosophy, history, sport, etc.

I have become far more skeptical (or disillusioned) of modern economics and the role software is playing in our lives. I'm not remotely a Luddite or a hater of capitalism, but as I've gotten older and experienced more, I find that combining those two is leading to some seriously disappointing results.

On that sour note, I think I'm done for today!
