I've never heard of Dark Stories, but I'm going to check it out now. We enjoy Mysterium and Roll for the Galaxy too.

Recently, my wife and I have been playing Time Stories -- just the two of us. It's annoying that you have to buy a new deck for new scenarios, but the game mechanics are fun. We also love playing Forbidden Island and Forbidden Desert when it's just the two of us looking for something to play.

Have you heard of Ex Libris? I saw a "let's play" video of that one recently and it looked kinda fun and different than stuff we're used to playing.

Also, not related to board games, but have you ever done Escape Rooms? Just thought as a board game fan you might enjoy those. We happen to live in a city that has dozens of them, but I know more companies are popping up all over the country.

I've stopped eating the old stuff after numerous fails. It never tastes the way I remember it (obviously) and then I just get sad for destroying my nostalgic memories of the cereal.

I'm biracial as well -- I assume that's what Halfrican means? Embarrassed to say I've never used that term before. Or is it only applicable if a parent was actually born in Africa?

What is it about LA that you hate? And what's the draw to Atlanta, if you don't mind me asking?

Do you have your own beehive? And if so, how much honey do you produce annually? Always wanted to get into beekeeping, but just no room for it at my house.

Hi! I'm @MrGabeFonseca and I made my way over here for many of the same reasons most of you did, so I won't bore you with that.

I'm 37, married, and currently working as a TV writer living in Los Angeles. I've written for a handful of TV dramas (that you've almost certainly never watched) and I love all kinds of movies, books and TV shows. I'm a huge NBA fan (Go Spurs!), lover of music (especially hip-hop) and of Broadway musicals. Never been a huge gamer... unless we're talking about old Sierra adventure games from the late 80s/early 90s!

Oh, and I'm also obsessed with cereal! I collect cereal boxes and have a YouTube channel called Cereal Time TV where I talk about old cereals and share boxes from my extensive collection.

Excited to be included in this new burgeoning community!

Are you guys planning on doing all the parks when you visit this Thanksgiving? Have you been to Animal Kingdom since they opened Pandora? The lines are are ridiculous but the new Avatar Flight of Passage ride is amazing!

I'll own it -- I'm just old and cranky, I guess. Because I find hardly any of Netflix's Originals worth my time. I thought when they first started producing shows (House of Cards, OITNB) they were going for the premium audience with highbrow, high production value, and high concept writing... but now it just seems like they are "regular tv" with tons of mediocre shows for every demographic.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy places like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. exist and allow for a diversity of voices so everyone can find their niche, but I do think there might be a smidge too much tv right now. There were 487 scripted shows that aired in 2017 -- that's a bit ridiculous.

My biggest (and only) gripe with the show is the idea of sustaining the franchise. I wish it was a miniseries that ended after 8 episodes. I fear it will go on long past it's "best by" date and lose what made this season so tight and engaging.

Many of the shows we write here in the US tend to squeeze every last drop out of a series when the story would be much better served in shorter format.

Full disclosure: I'm not a huge fan of Adam McKay's films and I don't care for his style. Also, unlike you, I especially dislike the zoom bursts.

That being said, I didn't hate this pilot. I thought they did a great job establishing all the characters and letting you know the stakes and the engine that will drive the series forward... I'm just not sure how much I really care about these particular characters. If Brian Cox remains a central character (no spoilers here) with a fair amount of screen time then I'll probably make it through the first season. If not, meh... not so sure.

Seems like HBO wanted their own Billions or something in the rich-white-people genre.

Not quite up to the level I expect from HBO, but way better than their most recent debacle with Alan Ball's Here and Now.

And I will say that if you're someone who enjoys McKay's films (especially The Big Short) I think you'll really like this show.
