I bugged CC on social media for years to put John Sayles’ “Matewan” in the collection. They finally did a couple years back, and I like to kid myself that I had something to do with it.

Now I’ve moved on to George Cukor’s 1939 fast talking dazzler “The Women.” That sumbitch needs to get the Criterion treatment.

I’m glad to see these comments; I read the three books some years back, so I couldn’t remember this much ‘murder mystery’ story, and I thought I was going crazy. Haven’t gotten to the finale yet, but glad to hear they included the detail that’s gonna widen the plot and drive it forward into a follow-up season. And I hope Juliet uses the between-season downtime to work on her American accent.

    Americans - Janelle Monae
    Superstitious - Stevie Wonder
I’m Afraid of Americans - David Bowie
A More Perfect Union - Titus Andronicus
Breakdance Beach - Hail Mary Mallon
We Shall Not Be Moved - Mavis Staples
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised - Gil Scott-Heron
We The People… - A Tribe Called Quest
    Fuck Tha Police - NWA
    American Hearts - AA Bondy
When The President Talks to God - Bright Eyes
