I recently purchased a used DJI drone. I'm parting it out to build a small robot that will hold my phone and follow me around. I'm building a rudimentary app that will use the DJI camera to recognize hand gestures. This way the robot can communicate a little bit from a distance. I am going to take apart an Alexia and see if I can stuff it in the body without adding too much weight. It will also notify me of incoming calls and chase me if I leave it somewhere. My biggest obstacle is battery life. I am thinking of making some of the limbs out of batteries like a Joby camera holder but then I run into issues with weight. Anyway, that is my fun electronics adventure atm.

Zero and infinity. Neither of these has any example in nature but we allow them to be the "bookends" to our mathematical system. I think this paradox is what separates us from the next intelligence level above ours. We do not have the grey matter to wrap our minds around these two concepts.

Me too. I could actually see Reddit charging users to have the "old" design vs using their new shitshow platform...

What I find most interesting is the snake mimicking a spider's movements- with its tail.

What I find most interesting is the snake mimicking a spider's movements- with its tail.

The viper was transported to a cage in a lab that resembled the semi-arid land of scrub and forest the snakes normally inhabit. A few birds were released in the enclosure, and a video camera set up. The researchers watched as the snake gently swooshed its tail along the ground, the swollen bulb and frilly scales perfectly recreating the skittering motions of a tasty spider. The illusion is eerily accurate; several birds became instant meals after trying to attack what appeared to be a meal for them. Anderson and his team were right.

Actually, exercises like this help improve the platform. The error was identified and correct so win-win all around- plus nobody got killed to find out the flaw.
