A Tribe Called Red - Dub-style powwow music. Kanye's Ye - came out today, and it sounds great. Miles Davis Kind of Blue - because Steely Dan Aja - one of my better sounding albums.

When you mention lo-fi hip hop, it makes me think of Madlib or Jay Dilla. Between the two, there is a treasure trove of 'lo-fi' beats.

I had a similar experience in '01 when I was introduced to Quasimoto (Madlib). I had never really delved into rap/hip hop and he's now one of my favorite artists, and I listen to as much hip hop/rap as anything else, these days. Granted, its pretty different from the artists you mentioned, but it was a mind-opening experience.

Skip the ~1min talk intro, and its a tight project with some great music production. Kanye is an interesting dude. I prefer hearing interesting people's music over boring people's music regardless of how the opinions fall. Dude makes killer music.

I dig this one more than Pablo, for sure.

edit: I'm gonna have to re-evalute my use of actual tildes, now.

Music--mostly just listening. I have an entire basement dedicated to my listening setup. Isolation treatment, 1974 Marantz 4300 amp, Spatial Audio M3 Turbo speakers, Rega P3 TT with Schiit Mani pre, an Akai 280 reel-to-reel player, and a Schiit Modi 2 Uber DAC. I listen to CD's, streaming services, and I have a vinyl collection of ~400 albums.

Backpacking, fly fishing, skiing, cycling, gardening, literature, and raw denim are all big interests as well.

Oh, and spending way too much time on Reddit, and now tildes.

I ski a lot in the winter, and backpack and fish a ton in the summer, and this is the ideal sleeper/fun wagon. It pulls hard.

Rogan is great because of the breadth/depth of his guests. Not sure if its market-garnering savvy, or just an interest in learning/hearing different perspectives, but its great more often than not.
