Love me some Letterboxd. I've been using it as my primary means to keep track of movies I watch and want to watch, for about a year. I enjoy that I can follow reviewers and critics I like, and write my own reviews when the mood strikes. I even paid for the premium tier, to support a place I like, and in order to easily see what's available to stream or rent, from my watchlist.

That being said, I'm not gonna link my profile here, haha.

Has there ever been a movie release date announced on a specific date so far in the future?

If there has, I don't know about it. December 2031 is 8.5 years away!

First of all, love the philosophy and organizational setup of Tildes. It's been great to lurk here for the last couple of days!

A few thoughts on your questions:

    1. I think seeing a list of groups is the best idea. It'd be clean, and easy to understand where to go from there.

    2. Make it Reddit-style. That homepage was a very useful place to hang out in, and I've always found it more straightforward than navigating a level, or more, down to find what I want, which is the forum style.

    3. I think the transition is: announce that it's now opt-in, have a place where we can see a list of groups (at least while the number of them is manageable), and let people go there and sign up for what they want. From what I've seen, unlike other Reddit alternatives that have gotten popular in the last week, Tildes is more popular with the more "power user"-type crowd. I'm sure they (we) will figure it out.

    Cheers!
