Any Letterboxd users here?
Hey all. I’m sure there’s a lot of new users making their way to Tildes this week. Let’s share some Letterboxd profiles to get the community going. I guess I’ll be first! Follow me if you have similar taste and I’ll do the same: https://letterboxd.com/plo/
Yeah. I’m not gonna link it cause I rather stay anonymous on here. I also plainly don’t care about Letterboxd culture (the humor, the taste). I do have over 3000 films watched though. So that’s something.
You could link it for a week or so, and when this thread gets buried, go and delete your comment here. You might pick up some followers and be able to follow other Tilders. Just a thought.
The problem with that is that the usual posters here would know what my name is and what I look like. And that prospect isn’t appealing to me. Not that I’m ugly or anything, just rather keep that distance I’ve had for 2 years.
I use Letterboxd quite a bit with 254 movies logged so far this year. I only share it with people I know personally. Sharing it with random people online doesn't appeal much to me either. I don't see how that's any different than just blindly following people from reviews in-app.
I use Trakt for that same purpose. I am more of a TV than movie buff, but I like having both tracked in the same place. It also matters to me that plays are tracked automatically when played via Plex.

I don’t use Trakt but I don’t follow much TV. I didn’t know it tracks via Plex automatically. That’s quite useful actually!
You need to set it up in the settings but it's super easy. Used to be a plugin, now both Trakt and Plex have this natively so you just need to put the correct webhook in the settings.
Never heard of trakt but I just signed up after reading this comment.

I don't write reviews as often as I'd like to, but here's my profile: https://letterboxd.com/tfaughnan13/
Happy to follow anyone back!
I followed you back. The Cranes Are Flying is a masterpiece and Kieslowski is my cinematic hero.
Oh man love Tree of Life. I feel like the hype for that has died off but it really deserves more recognition.
Absolutely. Have you seen the longer cut that's included on the recent Criterion release? I wouldn't say it's better than the original, but it's always a treat to see how Malick thought about editing things differently. The Criterion release of The New World has three different cuts!
Although I'm more of a music person, I do enjoy movies, too, so, naturally, I have a Letterboxd account!

I like the site and its UI, but since I have a project-driven personality, I love the list-making feature of the site, allowing me to have a visual representation of my Watching Projects. Like this one coming up:

1-star for Aftersun? I'm making a citizen's arrest. Anyways, here's mine (:
I swear I have decent taste!
I feel similarly to your review of it! It's beautifully shot but I simply couldn't relate to the movie at all.
I kinda agree in a sense. I didn't necessarily relate to the movie in the sense that I didn't lose a parent to suicide, but I felt that the story was masterfully told. All the stylistic choices made by the director were really cool... they never even disclosed the actual story/plot that was taking place. It was great in that sense.
Love your favs! (Haven't seen Secret Sunshine, but I've immediately added it to my scarily large watchlist)
As for me, I like exploring new kinds of movies, especially the mind-bendy ones. This is me: https://letterboxd.com/a_silly_cloud/
I don’t use it to interact with the community but mainly just use it as a log for movies I’ve watched (or attempted to watch).

Here is mine: https://letterboxd.com/crdpa/
I don't interact there much, just record what i watch.
Love me some Letterboxd. I've been using it as my primary means to keep track of movies I watch and want to watch, for about a year. I enjoy that I can follow reviewers and critics I like, and write my own reviews when the mood strikes. I even paid for the premium tier, to support a place I like, and in order to easily see what's available to stream or rent, from my watchlist.
That being said, I'm not gonna link my profile here, haha.
Big fan of Letterboxd! Personally just use it to track and rate the movies I watch, I almost never write a review, but I follow a few people and enjoy the reviews they write.
