For vegetarians, especially those from birth, it seems like the physical association to the actual animal grosses them out. But I've met folks who were vegetarian all their life, who have tasted meat and then picked it up because it didn't look like meat.

I spent time at the reference library here, just discovering random books. I picked up Beyond the Occult for fun, and it had a rather interesting introduction before it dived into the irrational. The interesting bit was about how intentional thoughts can limit feeling a moment in its rawness (with emotions and some more primal instincts) thus filtering out some of it and making it a bit sterile.

Today I continue to read Adrian Tchaikovsky's Children of Time.

Stumbled upon Hélène Vogelsinger, an electronic musician who uses modular synthesis to weave beautiful music. I recommend listening to her albums in its entirety. Here's a sample.

If you love it so far, I'm sure you will enjoy the trilogy. It's very hard to put down. I'm still trying to find sci-fi that's as gripping ever since.

As for myself and showering, if I'm not heading out at all, I'd do the shower once in 2-3 days until I find myself smelling bad. Showering too often rids us of our natural odour which isn't necessarily as off-putting without sweat. It sounds weird but people I've been intimate with have mentioned that they like my 'smell'.

Mortality. I'd be happy with things right now and I wish I could freeze moments for longer. The fact that everyone I love will at one point be no longer around keeps me from feeling fulfilled.

I didn't enjoy Oppenheimer as much as everybody seems to. For one, I didn't feel the watching experience was particularly enhanced by an IMAX screen. The movie seemed too long and I couldn't stay immersed what with the quick cuts and the swelling music. I don't mind long films and I watch a variety of cinema but watching Oppenheimer was just an ordeal for me.

I think I only enjoyed the speech scene at the auditorium, which was executed very well.
