Tildes Book Club - We will be discussing Piranesi the third week in April
Thanks to everyone who discussed Cloud Atlas and to those who attempted to read it and to those who read along at home.
Piranesi is significantly shorter than Cloud Atlas. I hope you will join us in reading and discussing in a month.
I love this book so much!!! Enjoy!!
Come discuss it with us!
I'll be there!! I don't think I'll reread but I'm 100% down to discuss this book at any time
I unfortunately didn’t get to read Cloud Atlas in time, but that’s only because right before I was about to start it I got a lucky “skip-the-line loan” from Libby for my hold on Project Hail Mary (which had 28 weeks left). I opted to read that instead, so I’m actually ahead of the game!
I’ve already read Piranesi. I probably won’t have time to re-read it before the discussion, but I remember enough of it that I’m excited to talk about it and hear others’ thoughts on it.
Nice. I couldn't get through Cloud Atlas...but I just started and finished reading Piranesi today.
Looking forward to this one! I finished reading it last year and it was an excellent read. It's still somewhat fresh in my mind, and I won't be re-reading it, but I'm keen to discuss it with everyone!
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by the same author is a very different beast, but another one of my favourite books of all time. It's an epic tome, and can come across as quite dry, but once you settle into the wit of it, it's just wonderful. Fully recommended!
I've read it now. Well, listened to the audio book, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I'll probably give it a 2nd listen before the spoilers post because it's quite a short one, 6-7 hours.
I didn't realize there was a book club on here! This one looks like a great read so I'll be hopefully grabbing this one from the library and joining in on the discussion next month.
Welcome
Here is the spring schedule, which extends into the summer. Spring schedule
Lately I was looking for a book club that I could join. I've never been a part of book club, so I feel a bit anxious to start now. Will try no to allow fears dictate my wants. I'm excited to try book club experience here!
Welcome!
I'm almost done. Such a great read, I found it so adorable. Can't wait to discuss!
I feel similar. Actually I just finished tonight. I'm excited but going to stick to the schedule.
Bumping this because that's next week.
Looking forward to it. It was a great book and I'm dying to discuss it with people! :P
I would love to join in this discussion!!!
Welcome! Anyone can!
Great looking forward the discussion.
One of my favorite books. I'm super excited to join in!
What are the policies about spoilers? I don't think I could say anything about this book without creating spoilers. It was just amazing. I want to talk about it, but I'm afraid to say anything that could give something away.
Please don't post any spoilers before the actual discussion thread unless you use spoiler tags.
I know there is a way to cover up spoilers.
In the discussion thread in April no need to worry about spoilers.
Thanks! I'll have to hold my... thumbs (?) until then.
Looking forward to talking/writing with you.
This should be the kick in the pants I need to read my hardcover copy that's been sitting on my shelf for ages. I'm a compulsive book hoarder, so it's a joy when a book club overlaps with a book on my to-read shelf that I thought I'd read 4 years ago.
I'm excited to participate in this for the first time. I've been reading a lot of non fiction lately and was looking for a novel. Happened to read this post and now I'm halfway done with the book.
