If the weather is bad or I need to be at home to sign for a package, I don't have to take a day off to stay home.
I also like that they invest in their employees. I recently switched positions within my company and felt that I didn't have enough knowledge of the roll to effectively do my job. The company paid for a training course and the certification exam.

This is unwelcome news as I, and I'm sure many others, dislike the microtransactions and codes/links to get more moves/dice rolls. I just uninstalled another game that went to this monetization strategy and will not hesitate to do the same with PokemonGo if that change is made.

I picked this one up since it was recommended by a support group for children with narcissistic parents and it helped validate a lot of the feelings that I had about my childhood. Definitely not one I recommend to just anyone, but if you have any experience with narcissists or just are interested in the subject matter, it's a really good read.

The chapter 'Go Hitler!' really hit home on how little the US spends teaching actual world history. Our studies basically focused on world history as it related to the US, which meant that South Africa was a part of a larger chapter. I didn't realize that there are 12 national languages, with even more being spoken, and knew nothing of the way the colonizers used language as a way to build barriers between the people of South Africa.

It was wild to try and reconcile the Trevor Noah that we know today to the younger Trevor Noah that had to hustle just to be able to afford food and new clothes.

I find that I tend to enjoy ones about a specific topic within that person's life, as opposed to a comprehensive dive into their whole life, so this one was perfect for me. I really appreciated that each chapter was a different aspect of his life in South Africa told from beginning to end before moving onto the next chapter.

I loved pretty much everything she was in when I was growing up. It's crazy to learn that she was only a couple years older than me. I hope that she didn't suffer too much.

My spouse runs into it from time to time, but at least your sizing is in inches or centimeters and not an arbitrary number. US women have to deal with vanity sizing starting a 00 - which could be 25.375", 23.875", 33.25", or 42", depending on the style of jeans.
Most recently, I purchased a different style of jeans from the only store I buy jeans at. I was a 6 in the old style and am an 8 or 10 in the new style. The size guide they provide is pretty much useless - it says I should wear a 6 in the new style if I base the measurement on my waist, but an 8 if I measure hips. The 6 was too tight, and the 8 fit fine for most variations, but the 10 fit better than the 8 in others. The kicker - nowhere does it mention how those specific jeans are measured.

The stores near me carry next to nothing in the way of sizes and, as a female, the numbers mean nothing. If pants were actual waist size instead of random numbers that sort of mean something close, it would be different. Unfortunately, I can be a size 4 at one store and a size 10 at another. It makes no sense and because of that I need to purchase multiple sizes to see what actually fits, when they don't have all sizes in the store.

We both have separate consoles and TVs and the fact that we wouldn't even be able to play on a local network with games that we have purchased (twice - since we have separate consoles) is an issue. I grew up during the time of LAN parties, where everyone just had to have a copy of the game and be connected on the same network. No worry about if the host was experiencing difficulties or the game no longer being supported. This is the exact reason why I buy so few games every year. What is the point, if we aren't able to play?

It's for myself, so it kind of gets shoved to the side when I have projects for others that I need to work on. The pattern is incredibly intricate, and it uses really fine yarn, so it isn't huge for how much yarn and time it has taken. I have about 8 rows to go, and each one takes around 2-3 hours, so I have anywhere from 16 to 24 hours to go. I am determined to finish it before I start a new project!

2 at a time isn't really difficult. Just make sure you have a really long cord for the magic loop. I think mine is 37". The biggest challenge I've had with this pattern is that it's written for DPNs so the heel turns took some time for me to wrap my head around with the magic loop. The heel turn is a Turkish heel. I honestly don't know if it's comfortable since it's my first time using this pattern. While trying it on to check the fit, it felt normal so I'm guessing I'll like it. I did try the extra stretchy bindoff but I didnt like the way the cuff flared. One of the suggestions I got was for a modified stretchy bindoff that should have less flare.
-
The pattern is called Killer Queen Pullover by Lyrical Knits. The best part of it is that it isn't actually colorwork - you only use one color per row! She is currently my favorite designer - I started (and almost finished) her As You Wish wrap for TiMaSoMo.

Baby blanket for my friends that are expecting their first child soon! I totally broke my New Year's Resolution of not starting new projects until I finish all my WIPs, but I already had the yarn and pattern so it was kind of already a WIP (or at least that's what I tell myself to make me feel better).

My first pair of socks knit two-at-a-time. I totally love this method and will never go back. I just need to figure out a stretchy 2x2 bind off that I like. I've tried a couple but pulled them out for one reason or another. My local group suggested 2 different ones that I'm going to try.

This is my first knitted sweater. The pattern is one that I previously made as a cowl/shawl so I already felt comfortable with the motifs. It's going really well and I'm actually closer to being done than the photo shows, since I haven't taken one recently. I am about halfway through with the 2nd sleeve.

+1 for Chacos. I bought a pair to go kayaking in and ended up wearing them for almost everything (except work). When those wore out after almost 10 years, I bought another pair and still love them.
