joeldare Same. I don't have much opportunity to use it these days but it does work how I think. I used to love that the quick reference manual was something like 30 pages.Same. joeldare I agree. I've used lots of languages and I like PHP the best; maybe only because it's where I have the most experience. It has its oddities, like different ordered arguments in some functions, but it's a fairly fast language, easy to deploy, and I find it a joy to use.
I like the cgi execution style it uses where it just executes through your front end server. I don't love the extra complexity (however small) of other languages that run each program on its own port and then using a proxy to push traffic to those ports.
From this comment it's probably clear, but I do mostly backend web development such APIs.

Your comment convinced me to look a little deeper. If Wikipedia is a trusted and impartial source then it looks like the majority of economists believe these tariffs will be a net negative for the US. Based on a couple other resources, I assume that the lower income earners are hit the hardest and I lean toward protecting that group. As such, these are probably a bad idea in general.
I still think that domestic production will increase in at least some of these industries. With the paper industry being mostly US, I'd probably bet on board games as a good contender for that to happen. Problem is, as you mentioned, that's not the stated goal.
The only stated goal is a negotiation tactic. It seems the major trouble spots, in the negotiation, are intellectual property theft and forced technology transfers. The US is out of control with intellectual property protections, especially on long copyrights and software patents, so I'm inclined to throw those away. So, my mind is changed. These tariffs with China are about the wrong things.

Probably because it's cheaper to print them in China, where the government subsidizes many goods. By taxing the foreign goods, it creates an incentive to create new companies who are able to print in the US. The author of this piece says he would like to do business with more US printers but it's not possible. The tarrif could fix that, long term, but it's painful now.

It's a soundtrack on something on Netflix. Liked it enough that I tracked it down. I really enjoy this type of "Heavy Blues" (that's what I call it, dunno if there is a better genre name).
If you like that, look at some of the stuff from the Black Keys and the sound track from Black Snake Moan, especially the songs by Samuel L. Jackson. Love that stuff.

People seem to be excited about it, and I've had a few orders, but there isn't as much interest as I hoped.
I purchased a USB stick from a local big box store, used a Mac to try to make an install drive, and it failed somewhere around 25%. Acted a lot like these cards that report themselves as a larger size than they really are. Maybe even brick and mortar stores aren't safe anymore. Maybe I just got a bad one. Pretty hard to tell.
