Hero-U: Rogue to Redemption. It is a kickstarted game by the people who made the Quest for Glory series (which is a fairly major game from my childhood). Its development had some rocky patches (they ended up changing some pretty big things because of backer feedback, and then did a second round kickstarter), but they have reached actual beta testing stages. I really hope it ends up being good, because I've been following it for a long time.

I'm also a pocketcasts user. I'm curious how/if they will change now that NPR bought them.

I'm a bit skeptical there, because from earlier reporting they actually accidentally destroyed their facility a while back with testing.

My suspicion is that he wanted to try to have us convert twitter users to reddit users by doing so. Of course, the fact that their anti brigading detection gets triggered and it actually harms the visibility of the AMAs if we followed his suggestion didn't really matter to him (my recollection is we could see a leveling off in score growth temporarily around when other people linked in to us).

Lately, I haven't been feeling like reading anything complex. I've been looking for simple, fun, predictable books, with quality being a secondary requirement. So, to that end, I've been reading a bunch of LitRPGs. The most recent one I'm reading is Threadbare by Andrew Sieple, which is actually surprisingly good. Many LitRPGs basically read like a power fantasy crossed with a person reciting an MMO log, but that book managed to be fairly entertaining.

This has been on my to do list. I stayed caught up until Robert Jordan died. I then decided to wait until all of the remaining books were released before finishing it. I haven't yet gotten together the willpower to do a final massive reread and finish off the series, but I think I'm getting close.

The bad distribution network is a pain. My most recent gripe is buying ebooks on Amazon. I don't like Amazon's ebook reader on android, and to use my preferred one I need to strip the DRM from their books. It is literally less effort for me to purchase the book on amazon and then go pirate a copy elsewhere than to download a copy to my computer and strip the DRM from it.
