You have the overall credit card issue

All my payments are done via national inter-bank micropayments system here: I just click the button that takes me to the platform page where I enter 6 digits code generated by my bank's app and then I confirm the transaction, either with pin or without it if the transaction is below a certain threshold. I can use this payment method as well doing regular "physical" shopping and it's quite convenient.

As for the online shopping: overall technically it's good but there are other issues. Nowadays every store here offers so-called "premium" service where they offer cheaper or free delivery options (if you ofc meet the requirements) so I truly despise that. If you won't pay for it, the delivery options are quite pricey or even limited - e.g. the parcel machine is not the closest one or you can't even have it as an option.

Finally managed to watch rest of the British Ashes to Ashes series. It's a crime and police procedural drama with some elements of sci-fi; it tells the story of Alex Drake who while being shot during the pusuit wakes up in the 80s and tries to figure out how she get there and how to survive. It's a sequel to Life on Mars with similar premise but action set in the 70s.

The sci-fi elements and action set in the past makes it quite unique among all other similar shows. Not mention the cast - Philip Glenister as Gene Hunt is amazing and has amazing chemistry with Keeley Hawes who plays Drake.

The final episode is a nice and simple wrap-up and because how it concludes there's rather no chance for another series - but IMO that's ok, not everything has to be stretched for multiple seasons.

I wouldn't mind to see most of my library on big screen but I doubt the titles I cherish would be screened ever again. It's definitely not a thing over here - just fresh blockbusters are being screened, even in the small, non-network theater. We have an annual open-air screening during summer (paused for the pandemic obv.) where they show independent films most of the audience never heard about.

There's so many parts of this game where they could do something according to player's suggestions it's just mind-bogging they don't. That includes abundance of materials that have no use - S3 and S4 had this "meta" currency that you'd purchase items with but S5 aka IBS didn't and every time peppers, shards, crystals pile up your best option is to delete that stuff. The ongoing meme is that "c in arena.net stands for consistency" and over the years devs show it's true.

Most of my friends, guildmates left years ago - either real life happen for them or they just were tired by waiting during content droughts. Seems that just the diehard players who enjoy this game stay around - myself counting in. Tho, seeing how story progressed from PoF further in till today makes me despise the game in that part - so I started playing wvw again.

The content droughts - because there was more than just one, each varied on duration, made me always focus on the most mundane stuff like rolling additional character to test out a profession I haven tried before or finish map completion etc. It's not like there was nothing to do - people just wants always new fresh stuff.

At least at some point they introduced the annual festival schedule to somehow fill gaps where they're working on something. And on a few occasions we had (and still have - the april 1st achievements) these side stories/bonus events stuff that become a somehow permanent addition. It seems that they also finally understand that week long bonus buffs to rewards are also a good thing.

I'm into MMO for years and for years I'm playing Guild Wars 2. The pro's: there's no sub, variety of stuff becomes unlocked per account. There are QoL items in their mtx store rather than p2w stuff. There's no gear treadmill beyond max level - unless you want to pursue fancy skins and/or QoL feature of legendary armor and weapons. Instead of classic fetch quests there are dynamic events that allows random players to participate and share rewards. And because of this, it's more a collaborative rather than competitive game when it comes to PvE stuff.
The con's: game uses in-house engine that didn't aged well and it struggles today in some particular spots; it's more a CPU dependent piece. Company never managed to keep focus on one way of delivering content and for nearly 12 years danced around few ways of keeping the game alive. The lack of focus is also clearly visible when it comes to working on bugs - stuff doesn't get patch for years while really low priority changes tend to get introduced out of blue.

I could go for hours listing all the issues but to do tldr: it's a good game that fits casual needs of many but it suffers from being poorly managed. Arena should ditch the rose-tinted glasses and stop pretend they're some triple a company that can hide all the issues behind corporate newspeak.

The good thing about owning physical media is that you aren't depending on service provider's good will in delivering the content. You can watch it at any time without a risk that some ceo-whatever will decide to pull series/movies out of the platform due to low ratings or license disagreements.
Not mention that streaming catalogues may differ from country to country exactly because of these licensing issues. I did experienced this by myself - instead of having access to same content as my friends from other European country, I was gratified with totally unrelated soap operas and films from countries I never even been into.

Don't get me wrong, streaming is working as a way of providing media to the masses nowadays - it even did stopped piracy for a while. But some people want to have a freedom of choice and access once again. The freedom of not being maneuvered into subscribing to n-services to track stuff they want to see or "own". And yet, it seems that having a physical media become a collecting hobby nowadays rather than default way of accessing the content... I wonder what happens in years to come - will we revert to physical media or we dwindle into a reality where "you don't own anything".

The original anime is a series of its times - it's a slice of the 90s life. And while it didn't follow manga in terms of the plots, it fleshed out characters and even the enemies. We got Jadeite-Kunzite relationship, Ayakashi Sisters becoming normal women, Mimette who wanted to be a pop idol or Nehelenia who was a tragic character on the inside and not just an evil queen, we got that famous Seiya interest in Usagi plot. Manga while is the source of this story didn't took this approach and it always feels like it's moving forward without any pit-stop (kinda like... Usagi running in the R ending). You had to assume that girls like each other and are bonded not only by the destiny of being sailor soldier but normal friendship. Personally I wouldn't dismiss it or call it worse - I know Takeuchi didn't liked the changes but for me it's just a different take of this story. Bit like... parallel universes diverge with history at some point lol.

As for the quality of 90s series - it didn't aged well but despite the obvious constant character designers episode by episode this is the charm of animation being drawn and colored by hand which really counts for me. That physical cell animation is something I miss whenever I have chance to watch anime today.

We had own issues here: while we had the original background audio, due to "cultural reasons" and money, the tv station decided to opt for lector-narrator solution - mrs Stachyra was reading lines for every character. Sometimes situational context was missing or was simplified but that's normal because dialogues text was purchased from France; and because of this Usagi become Bunny in our version.

During first airing the tv station didnt show episodes 44 and 45 due to brutality; we haven't seen the episode of SuperS where kendo girl gets her ass smacked by her mother and actually SuperS intro and ending were missing and were replaced by R versions. They also had serious doubts about last 2 episodes because Usagi is being presented nude. Luckily they decided to conclude the story otherwise fans would be angry. In the end of 00s another tv station aired first series again, with a different lector (a guy this time, well known by voice here) but the translation was much more closer to the original - sadly, the interest was low and they didn't rework remaining series.

I remember people being fascinated by this show back then and of course seriously disappointed how it ended. But during its tenure, I remember people were wonder if Lost is somehow connected to... Half-Life. The show was kinda binge interesting and engaging but I'm not so eager to watch it again.

As for your original question: I'd suggest Battlestar Galactica (the 2004 one) which somehow meets your criteria but with that one caveat it's of scifi genre intertwined with militaristic stuff

I'll go with Sailor Moon. This series redefined magical girls theme which up until that point were mostly cheerful stories about girls gifted with fairy tale-like magic to solve everyday life problems. Sailor Moon bring a drastic change: there's not one but 5 girls in a nod to supersentai shows. And they have more of soldiers rather than witches or enchantresses - they fight evil while still living ordinary "civil" lives not resolving into magic at all to fix their problems. There was Cutey Honey before that but SM break into the whole world - almost everyone recognizes Usagi by her hairstyle.

There's another significance: Takeuchi's creation was one of 2 'free tickets' everyone got in Poland in the end of 90s for a train into the world of anime and manga; the second one was Dragon Ball. Both propelled our fandom in the early years and bring people together.

I think Hellsing was pretty significant too - there were series about vampires like D or Vampire Princess Miyu but Hirano bring more meat into the genre, I believe.
