One of my biggest complaints about reddit was the downvoting, considering it was widely misused and abused. I'm super glad that one of the main tenets of this site seems to be only allowing "upvotes." I feel like that goes a really long way in promoting friendly discussion rather than toxic environemts. Hopefully that ends up working out well in the long run!

Something about it just established for me how much nicer this looks compared to previous VR controls when it came to interacting with objects.
Really interested to see what the VR titles that Valve is supposedly working on will look like with tech like this.
I graduated from college with a pretty high GPA recently, but haven't been having any luck with getting a job or internship. It feels like all of my friends got something no problem, but everyone I've applied to has either ignored me, or interviewed me, and then chose someone else on the basis of them being more experienced than me.
There was one position I really liked and that I thought I was a shoe-in for, only to get edged out in the final round. When I inquired about the internship they were thinking about setting up, they informed me they already set it up, and filled it with someone less skilled.
Everyone I talk to seems to like me, but nothing ever comes from that. I keep getting encouragement like "you'll end up somewhere great," "you have a really great skill set," and "people like you get hired super quick." While that was encouraging at first, I've heard that stuff so much without results that it's started to feel like people just lying to my face.
I did get a last minute internship through my school's career counselor, but it's an hour and a half drive away, unpaid, 16 hours a week of just straight research on a computer, probably won't lead to a job, and is on a topic I'm not really interested in, and doesn't really seem to be related to my major. I'm sticking to the hope that having it on my resume will somehow help me out, but I'm feeling doubtful.
I just feel like I'm at this really confusing point in my life where I'm trapped. I can't get a job or an internship because I lack experience because I can't get a job or an internship. It's like my worst fears realized, and I don't know what to do. I just hate not having a solid plan other than "just keep applying and hope something eventually works out, before you've been out of college without experience so long that nobody will hire you."
