I would do shooting practice outside so it didn’t require much of a backstop. A taught net might do the job though.

The golf ball is great for practicing stick handling. Get some cones or similar obstacles and lookup some drills on YouTube. If you’re not already, make sure to wear gloves while practicing. You should start to notice the base of the palm on the upper hand’s glove wearing down more than the rest. This means you’re holding the stick properly.

For shooting I used a piece of plywood with a goal shape taped on. A street hockey puck works well enough in my opinion.

Leg strength and balancing exercises will benefit you for skating. Whole leg is important, but most power comes from the thighs. Ankle strength will help with turning, cross overs, and managing your edges. An exercise I always have called skaters (and variants) is a good one.

Poor locker room culture is also probably why Wheeler is gone. Again, if rumors are true.

I found MediaWiki to be both familiar and easy to maintain. Since you’re on NixOS I can share my config. I’ll try to remember to add it soon™️. Not the cleanest setup, but here it is:

My dad taught me to fish while growing up in AK. Salmon and halibut from rivers and the ocean mostly. I stopped fishing when I moved away, but recently started up again in the Midwest. I work remote and know very few people where I live. It's sometimes challenging to find good places to fish. Especially when I'm not as familiar with lake fishing.

Thankfully, after getting skunked all but once last year, I've started to have success. Mostly little pan fish not worth keeping, but it's better than nothing! Fighting the fish is my favorite part, so I want to try targeting Walleye and Pike more.

You need the app to sign up for the beta. Once you’re accepted, you get a notification from the app. They ask for the email you’d like everything forwarded to, and what you want your duck address to be.

Then you’ll get an email from DuckDuckGo. It contains a link that’ll activate the email service in their browser extension. I’ve used the same email for multiple browsers.

After that you can generate private addresses using either their app or browser extension. Every email forwarded will have a message saying “we removed X tracker(s).” Clicking that takes you to a summary of the trackers blocked. It’s also where private addresses can be deactivated.

If I remember correctly I saw someone somewhere mention that DuckDuckGo plans to make a page or something where you can manage all your private addresses, your forwarding address, and more. Hopefully this all makes sense.

DuckDuckGo’s Email Protection service recently entered beta. Can sign up for the private beta on their mobile app. They let you generate infinite private addresses for free. They also automatically strip trackers (Mail Chimp, Send Grid, etc). I’m a big fan of it, especially not needing an account to use it.

If you want to avoid a 3rd party solution, buy a domain. The registrar should support email forwarding. Namecheap has it for free if I remember correctly.

OG Anime > End of Evangelion > Rebuild films. That’s my most to least confusing ending scale.

I think the first two Rebuild movies are better than the show. 3rd one kinda sucks. 4th is divisive.

Once I understood the ending, I think the 4th is fantastic. While it made more sense than the show, I still didn’t connect all the dots. That partly could’ve been since I watched the dub. Apparently it’s not the best.

So to answer your question. I think the first two are a must watch. If you don’t want a potentially confusing ending again skip 3 and 4. Of note movies 1-3 have post credit scenes that are important.

I’m quiet conflicted on how I feel. On the one hand, I find the premise and characters fascinating. On the other I’ve found the endings and some plot points confusing. Done a lot of reading about it to help, but sometimes it feels like I watched something different than others did.

I ask cause it’s been slow for me. Reminds me of learning C/C++ in college. Almost like my brain can’t quite wrap itself around the topic. Honestly it’s probably because I’ve tried to learn new topics alongside, but wanted to see your thoughts.

I have setup VIFO before. It works quite well but you “need” two GPU’s. With VIFO you dedicate a GPU to the guest OS. This prevents the host OS from using it. The software I’d like to see wouldn’t take control away from the host and you’d only need one GPU.

    1. Open Source and modern Remote Desktop software. VNC is technically open source(?), but I feel it’s not friendly to non-devs. The ones that are user friendly aren’t open source.

    2. I’m sure there’s a reason this hasn’t been done. I want to see an add-on or something for VM’s. It would fake a GPU for the guest OS. Any calls the guest OS made would be passed to the add-on, which would run the call on the host’s GPU. The results would be sent back to the guest OS. I’m probably explaining it poorly, but it would be similar to what Wine does for exe’s.

    Edit: VNC not VLC
