Arsenal through and through since I started watching the premier league in 07/08. Too late to see the invincibles or even see Henry in an Arsenal shirt. Many ups, but mostly downs. Victims of our own expections and being a big club without the resources to wield in order to back that up. Having to watch top player after top player leave to seek greener pastures and trophies... RVP, Cesc, heck even Adebayor sprinting and knee-sliding across the pitch in sky blue haunts my nightmares.

It's been really cathartic to see the team gel and evolve under Mikel Arteta. I truly can't wait for each match day, and seeing the fans, players, and staff really buy into the project is awesome to see. Long may it continue. COYG!

I started supporting them towards the beginning of last season when a friend of mine invited me to watch them play and I saw just how beautiful their football was. I've since completely caught up on the history as much as I can, and I'm just enamored with all aspects of the club.

Arteta is a genius in my eyes, and I'm so excited for the future of this club.

I didn’t watch a single second of the World Cup and I’m not supporting that shit in United either. Luckily I still have my local team since I was very young and although they went down this season they of course still gets my support.

Started supporting us in 07. Did the sight of Fernando Torres looking like the coolest man to a 10 year old kid play a part? Yes. I still even have blonde highlights! Was I also the saddest 14 year old when he left? Yes.

Love the club to bits and the people and city of Liverpool. Not to delve too heavily into it, but it makes me even prouder to support a club that holds my political views and stances. The people of Liverpool are good folk.

I also started following Liverpool after we bought Fernando Torres. It's been a wild ride and Klopp is the best thing to have happened to the club in a long time. A little disappointed to have not won more in the past 5 years but it is what it is. The future is looking bright with the team finally getting a much needed refresh in the midfield and Trent's new role as a inverted wingback.

So I started supporting the team when King Kenny was player-manager and that team was a dominating unbeatable machine for its era.

But they had just come off the back of the Heysel stadium disaster and then a few years later Hillsborough and it pretty much gutted the team and caused Dalglish to resign as the fallout of Hillsborough (in particular) was more than he could handle.

The teams after that were pretty rubbish to be honest... the odd glimmer when each manager (except Hodgson) took over and brought something new but it never sustained. Hodgson just never played the Liverpool way and Souness (who came after Dalglish) just recruited players who played how he knew to play - bruisers and scrappers but little technical ability apart from the players who came through academy.

Klopp's teams are just remarkable and if it wasn't for the fantasy football buying power or Man City I would say they would probably be the modern equivalent of that 1980's team and would have won most of the league titles in the last 5-6 years.

They are probably actually technically and from a fitness perspective much much better than the 1980s team but that's more to do with modern developments - players are faster, stronger and fitter, more tactically aware and the tactics deployed by teams is way ahead of football 40 years ago, but if one could somehow allow for that when making the comparison I would say they are of a similar quality.

Just my opinion, other long term fans may disagree and fans who have been around long enough to see what Shanks and Paisley did before Dalglish was manager may have even more to say about it.

I've been a Chelsea fan ever since I saw their unlikely victory against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League Final. We've had our ups and downs, with an exceptionally poor last season, but it's always been fun to support the Blues. Since the past year or so, however, my love for club football has gone down a bit, with all the insane amount of money being spent, owners trying to sport wash their image and the general corruption involved in the game. I hope some changes are brought to the way football clubs are owned, for example the 50+1 rule followed in Germany. Till then, however, I will probably watch the occasional Chelsea game and hope to be entertained.

Real Madrid here, ever since I was a little kid. The only club that can bend reality again and again to the point where, if it were made a TV show, you'd turn Netflix off because you'd find it too unrealistic to be believable.

And all of this while the club is publicly owned by its own fans. No private investors, no external cash injections, nothing. 100% self-sustained through the revenue the club itself generates.

    Real Madrid for life ❤️

I support the Colorado Rapids and Arsenal. The Rapids came first; I lived in Colorado and started to get into soccer in the early 2000s. It can be a tough slog as a Rapids fan but we’ll always have 2010. Thanks, Kandji.

I became an Arsenal fan in 2008, partly because of their connections to the Rapids when Kroenke started to buy shares in Arsenal. As I recall, for a little while the Rapids used to fire off a cannon at Dick’s. I also loved Arsene Wenger’s philosophy and the way Arsenal played. Why I thought it was a good idea to support another Kroenke-owned team when he already owned almost every other team I support (Rapids, Nuggets, Avs), I don’t know. I live in the US so have spent way more time at pubs drinking on Saturday and Sunday mornings than I care to admit and I’ve made it to quite a few matches at the Emirates (I was there for that Wilshere goal against Norwich) and a few away matches.

Love the Arsenal women’s team too and I get to Meadow Park when I’m in London for a match. Can’t wait for the upcoming season with Viv, Beth, Leah, etc back and the addition of Russo and Lacasse. I’ve never really gotten into an NWSL team since there wasn’t one in Denver but I’ve lived in Houston for a bit and dabble with the Dash.

Really excited for Arsenal’s future and the cohesion that’s been built across the club and fan base in recent years. Wish I could say the same for the Rapids.

The good old Central Coast Mariners, from Australia's A-League. The poorest, smallest market team in a poor, small market league. We won the wooden spoon five times, four of them in a row. But this year, we beat Melbourne City and their oil sheikh (yes, it's that City group) sportwashing money 6-1 in the big dance to lift the trophy. It's sort of David and Goliath stuff, if David had to actually rise from the dead first.

I'm an Atletico Madrid supporter, and have been since 2014. A friend introduced me to them, so I started supporting them. At the time, it felt like supporting the underdogs, so I was swept away by that charm. To be honest, I really enjoyed how they completely shut down teams (at least, back in the days with Godin and Miranda around), and watching the opponent start tilting is really entertaining.

By decent I'm a Birmingham Blues fan, though a pretty passive one. Football might as well be religion for my dad and I'm a little bit of a heretic. I grew up going to games anytime we visited family in England and was decked out in Blues gear from before I could walk.

Growing up I was a big fan of the Clash (now and before the Earthquakes). I wore my clash shirt to every class photo from age 6-10. I used to love going to the games, particularly if we were near Crazy George!

During university I study abroad in Spain and took on the team of a friend of mine, Athletico. I like an underdog and Athletico felt much more like the working man's team.

Everton since 2010 when Landon Donovan and Tim Howard were both playing for them, coinciding with the world cup. What an emotional roller coaster this last season has been!

Wrexham AFC since late 2020, when I caught wind that Rob and Ryan were acquiring the team. As a huge fan of everything Rob Mcelhinney, I'm invested in this team.

USMNT for life, starting with the exhilarating WC run in 2010, followed by another strong showing in 2014, and massive disappointment in 2018. I'm happy with our progress since then and am very optimistic for the depth we seem to have after the CONCACAF Nations League. Even though we lost tonight in the Gold Cup, there were still some highlights from our "B"/"C" team. I'm most excited about:

    • Gio Reyna: He's our ace in the hole, if him and Berhalter can figure things out.
    • Balogun: Man, he's just slick with the ball. He's a very polished striker, which we were missing in the 2022 WC.
    • Weston McKennie: I love his confident/borderline-cocky personality and ability to control the game. When he's on the pitch, he elevates the rest of the team.
    • Tyler Adams: Just sheer intensity and intelligence.
    • Puli: I'm glad to see he's going to AC Milan and hopeful that they won't squander him like Chelsea did. The dude has a ton of talent when he's confident.

And controversially, I think Jesus Ferreira is earning his spot as #2 behind Balogun. He's just worked so hard during the Gold Cup, has had some amazing strikes, and has also set up some great runs and through passes. I like Pepi too. It's a good problem to have, having to choose between great strikers...

I've been following Inter Miami for better or worse (but mostly worse) since Becks redeemed his franchise coupon here. While I don't think Messi will be enough to climb the table and make the playoffs, maybe some magic is still to be had in the Open Cup and Leagues Cup. I think 2024 will be promising with another transfer window and a more coherent roster to maximize his playmaking.

In any case, his signing is a massive W for MLS and soccer in North America as a whole. Hopefully we'll reach a point where the league doesn't need such signings to generate interest. I'm looking forward to the sport growing leading up to the 2026 WC and having Messi playing here for the next 2.5 years should be a nice lead-in.
