I recently put a lot of time into Voidigo. I really liked it! It's a little different than other rougelites that it resembles so it took some time and frustration to figure it out. I really like the things it does differently and it really encourages trying different weapons and powerups. You have to in order to access the final level. I put a good 40 hours into it but I felt it was time to move one.

I started playing Mortal Sin for my rougelite fix and love it so far. It's still in early access and I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses. Mortal Sin also brought me to Barony. That game is rage inducing but I can't stop playing it.

I also started Spider-Man 2. I'm still at the beginning but I'm sure I'll like it because I enjoyed the first one and Miles Morales a lot.

TOTK still. I have a newborn at home so it's taking me a long time to finish but I think I'm getting close to finally finishing it. I decided to upgrade an armor set to the max and needed to farm Lynel guts. That took forever because the drop rate is way too low for something I found to be very tedious and frustrating. I really love the game but that really sucked. Anyway, I finally have the parts and am doing a push to the ending. Not sure what I'll play next.... Maybe the Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty.

I'm also play Diablo 4 once a week with my brother. I like it but it hasn't really blown me away.

This thread actually inspired me to fire up the game again! Since playing Sekiro I've played other games with similar gameplay like Ghosts of Tsushima and that Star Wars game. Playing those made me realize I wasn't being nearly aggressive enough with Sekiro. I'm not that far yet and I don't know if I have time to play through it all anytime soon but so far it has been a lot easier and more enjoyable. I used to really struggle with the mini-bosses and would get extremely frustrated but so far I've defeated 3 without them killing me at all. I've also been flying through the stages which might partly be because I remember them surprisingly well but also from just being more aggressive and not relying so much on stealth.

I completely forgot about the guardian ape! I managed to defeat it by watching a lot of cheese videos on YouTube. Did you know eventually you get to fight two ape bosses at the same time? Fun! I was going to respond to this post and say one of the final bosses in Sekiro was too much for me but I didn't because I feel like I could have defeated him if I really tried. I just really did not enjoy that game and didn't see the point of putting myself through that.

Similar situation for me and also a similar schedule. I have two dogs that are constantly going inside and out. Plus one of them has a bad habit of peeing inside. I always clean the pee stains when I find them with a spot cleaner and do a full shampooing every three months. I'm always shocked at how dirty the waste water is. It makes me feel like I need to clean it every month but it's such a chore.

I've always been up and down with my fitness and weight. I used to be an avid runner and ran multiple full and half marathons. That all ended when I got with my ex. She's a hedonist and I have little self control. So by the time we broke up I was the heaviest I've ever been. During the lockdown of 2020 I decided to change things and joined Noom. I found the program very annoying but I did manage to lose 40 lbs just by dieting. Unfortunately I slipped when I met my current partner because of our dates (we're both foodies and a drinkies), pregnancy, and then stress of a newborn. I ended up gaining 15 of it back.

My dad recently passed away. He wasn't exactly young but not nearly as old as my family usually live to. I made the choice to get healthy again because I am an older dad and I really want to be around for my daughter as long as possible. So, I started by cutting out as much sugar from my diet as possible. No more candy and I always check product labels to see how much added sugar there is. It's amazing how I don't crave sugar anymore and I also don't have the urge to snack as much. I also took some of the tools I learned from Noom and only eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm satiated. For fitness, I started taking my daughter on long brisk walks M,W, and F and doing strength training T and Th.

I started seeing results a couple of weeks ago and my partner noticed yesterday. I feel really good about that. Plus what I'm doing isn't that difficult so I think I'll be able to maintain until I hit my weight loss goal. After that maybe I'll try to train for another half marathon. I'm done with the full ones.

For some reason I assumed that you couldn't run in Donkey Kong Country Returns. I didn't realize that you could until I think the 4th world. I don't know if it made me enjoy the game more as it made an already difficult game even harder. However, walking through the first part of the game caused me to develop some skills that made the rest of it much easier. Or at least it made the remaining challenges feel more doable.

I love roguelikes! I especially like ones that allow you to be OP by the end of the run of you make the correct choices. That's always what I liked about RPGs and roguelikes allow you to do that without sinking dozens of hours into a run.

I don't know if Children of Morta has been mentioned but that one stands out for me because I like how the story was gradually told as you played. The main game mode is more aRPG with roguelikes elements but there is a roguelike run mode that was made available after release.

Enter the Gungeon is one that I've always wanted to like but I felt the runs were too long and the difficulty was a little too high. I don't mind hard games but I feel like some choices for Gungeon were made just to make it harder so increase the play time and not make it more fun. One thing I liked about Binding of Isaac is how there is so much post game content that you could choose how far you wanted to go and so had some control of the difficulty while still being able to get a sense of satisfaction even without unlocking everything.

I finally got around to finding a primary care physician. If I knew it was going to be so difficult I definitely would have started my search earlier. Most of the PCPs in my network are book so full that the earliest they could see new patients was spring 2024. Luckily I was able to find one with more availability but not until November! US healthcare is so broken. Anyway, this probably doesn't seem like much but I'm proud of myself for finally getting around to it.

This weekend the baby will be with Grandma so my partner and I will have some much needed time alone together.

I'm recording a song. I used to be able to finish one in a few weeks but this one is taking a lot longer because I have a newborn at home and can only really record in the morning when she and her mom are sleeping. Plus it's more ambitious than most of my work.

I love three houses! I was always fascinated with the Fire Emblem series but I found them intimidating for some reason. Three Houses was intimidating too but it finally clicked on my third attempt at it at the beginning of the year. I was able to sink like 250 hours into it before becoming a dad. I'm excited to try the other Fire Emblem games when I have more free time.

Nobody really listens to my music but this is what I do! I always announce a new release on Instagram and have a pinned post to my album. Finding curated playlists on Spotify or other streaming platforms that matches your style or location is good, too. The curator will often have how to submit a song in the description. I also seek out radio stations that take submissions. A lot of low power stations aren't able to play licensed music so they like self released and unlicensed options.
