As a child I was forced to eat Brussels and swore I wouldn't as an adult. I once sat at a table for 10 hours as I refused to eat them.

And as an adult I haven't eaten them ever. No amount of "oh they are much nicer now" or " you are living in the past" will change my mind, I am an adult and I will eat what I want. I made a promise to myself and I will keep it.

It's also the reason I never told my children to eat anything they obviously disliked, it is counter productive

So I worked until Xmas Eve and then Christmas day the wife and I spent the day at home, cooking dinner and opening presents.

Boxing day is the day all the family get together so today was a mad day of grandkids, noise and a visit from my son.

This weekend we are going to have a wander round the shops, drink coffee and chill, then Sunday I am going to try out my new hobby, disc golf, something that I have accidentally discovered I enjoy.

I have found that my mental health suffers with too much social media and avoiding just makes me plain happier.

I avoid newspapers and news outlets for the same reason, I just don't need the stress

You didn't say where you were located but in answer to some of your questions

The way to find a good local tattooist is to ask around. Find people with tattoos that you like and ask them. I can assure you that 90% of them will be more than happy to talk to you and tell you about their favourite artist.

As for mocking up your design, yes, the tattooist is not a mind reader and while they will try to get a very good idea of what you need in the end that design is in your head, so a picture is worth a 1000 words.

Also when you go to see the tattooist, look at their work as well, everyone specialises in something and if they can't help they will usually recommend someone who does.

And most importantly be sure that you want it. I usually wait a year or so from planning to getting the tattoo, so that I make sure I'm sure

Also good luck, enjoy it and welcome to the club.

(63 and just planning my 7th piece)

Bite the bullet, invest in Win11 and you will both be happier.

I have just spent the last hour watching the Disability Premier League final at Sofia Gardens in Cardiff. It is still ongoing but it has been a great game to watch so far. The Tridents and the Pirates are battling it out.

It is being shown on Sky Sports currently here in the UK and listening to the descriptions and background of the sport has been fascinating.

Only in its third year it pulls together three type of disability, physical, deaf and learning and mixes them all together in the same squads.

The cricket play has been excellent up til now and as I said I have enjoyed what I have seen, its a shame that I stumbled on it accidentally as I think it should be advertised more and I hope that Sky can see their way to in the future showing more of the other matches that lead up to this final.

    Go Pirates!!

Pasadena Roof Orchestra - Night Out (1979)

I had heard of them in passing but never sat and listened to them. Then I found a few of their CDs in the local Charity shop and the Night Out album found its way to the car.

20s and 30s music played on more modern instruments but the recording of them is much better. The ones that I know (the old favourites) sound like true cover versions, so I can only assume the ones I dont know are as well.

I have really enjoyed listening to this album and will be giving the other CD's a go over the weekend

Turns out when I was researching the album for this comment that it was only issued on Vinyl and Compact Cassette, as far as I can see but this German pressing of a CD must be a bootleg.

Last night I had a weird dream that I was swimming in orange pop. But then I woke and realised it was just a Fanta-Sea

I went to the zoo the other day, but there was just a dog in a cage. It was a Shih Tzu

So we went to another zoo, and there was just a cage with a loaf in it. I asked the keeper what was it all about, he said it was bread in captivity

Honest story. Im in a business where software upgrades get done at 2 and 3 in the morning. It has become a tradition that I tell Dad jokes when we have a quiet period. If I dont have one ready that is unacceptable, it has even become part of the Standard Operating Procedure, line 4001 the only line starting 4000, I Tell a Dad joke. I suppose it helps that to many of them I am old enough to be a father figure, So those above are my favourite, but I have more.

However, with an upcoming birthday that starts with a 6 and ends with an 0, it has been pointed out to me that these are not Dad Jokes, but Grandad Jokes.

What I did wonder is how many of them have reached other shores, I mean "Red Sky at Night" probably has but does anyone even know who St Swithun even was?

Also I would be interested to hear some country specific ones.
