It was a mark of pride to have perfected all the Bethesda games that have achievements, until Starfield added their newest DLC. I've gone back, but that game doesn't have it for a variety of reasons, so I may leave it unfinished. Didn't do Fallout 76 either to be fair.
I also perfected the Dishonored series without the firsts DLC (notoriously difficult to 100%), and many others. My luck hasn't always held though, I've had quite a few games achievements bug out. I'm back trying to perfect Dark Souls Remastered after perfecting the original. That one's a grind too.

The idea that a liberal government is spending political capital on this, rather than pushing back against the worldwide rise of fascism drives me nuts too. How is this the top priority?
I've always felt that kids should stay off the Internet, but it's the parents that should I force that, not the government. A kid doesn't need the newest I phone, they need a flip phone so they can call their parents if they are in danger/trouble. The idea of regulating the internet to keep kids off of it is a dumb idea to me, when it should be a parents responsibility. I know parents are overloaded right now, especially with the world wide economic issues and they are also freaking out over the rise of fascism, but heavy handed regulation isn't the solution. Making it easier / cheaper to have kids with child care and tax credits is.

I stumbled across a recipe for tequila that involved grilling pineapple, cutting it into chunks and then letting the tequila age a couple of months with the pineapple in it. It's supposed to smooth out even the worst tequila, but I couldn't get it to work as well for me.

I think it's somewhat texture related, I don't like the texture of cooked pineapple as much. It also loses some of its sour, and I do love that in pineapple.
But if it's your pizza? Knock yourself out.

Exceeding the moons gravity and slingshoting back to earth would be a simpler task than going from the earth to the moon. So you launch all the setup hardware and a bunch of non human rated return pods once, and then you only have to refill the pods when you run out.
Still a gargantuan task that we are no where near close to, but a cool idea.

I think this has been brewing for a while culturally. 24 hour news cycles lead to more news being written, and less care put into followup stories than the new headline. I know it's a bad habit of my own to not read past the headlines in many cases. Some of that also has to do with bad news sites, ad spam, and popups. We are incentivized to not read past the headline.
I don't know how we fix it. I'm trying to spend less time on my phone and more time with paper books.

I think I would say that, and this is a big if, if there was public transit easily accessible everywhere, then we could massively increase the punishments for drunk driving and especially drunk accidents.
I don't necessarily agree with using the stick as the primary way to make the world safer. In my neck of the woods, it would almost certainly be unfairly enforced: rich people would skate by with a fine and minimal jail time, but poor and unprivileged people would see the max sentence every time. While I do agree that every death from drunk driving is preventable, and I would love to live in that world, policing/ sentencing near me would probably not create that.
I also understand that that is a huge "IF" public transit is not an easy thing, and is often underfunded and poorly planned/managed. As someone in an area without, I loved riding the subway in NYC and the Underground in London. But I am also not one of the people who may be scared off or made uncomfortable on public transit.

"Currently, detection technology around the legal limit continues to have an error rate that would be unacceptably high ... while NHTSA has not made a final determination about the necessary level of accuracy, even a 99.9 percent detection accuracy level could result in millions to tens of millions of instances each year where the technology would incorrectly prevent or limit drivers from operating their vehicles, or fail to prevent or limit impaired drivers from doing so," the report reads. "At this time, NHTSA is not aware of any technology that claims to achieve anywhere close to [the needed] level of accuracy."
In my opinion, we need to strengthen public transit to reduce drunk driving instances. It's not a perfect solution, nothing is, as countries with better public transportation still have drunk drivers kill people, but it would help a reduce the number of drunk drivers on the road and benefit those not able to buy or operate a car.

Like I get if you sign up for volunteer military service, that the military kinda needs to know where you may be. That makes sense. But even if you don't sign up for it? Like the US draft doesn't know or care where you are, they would just send notice to your place of permanent residence.

What I don't get is why they thought it would make a splash in the market. It was so much more expensive than the Switch or Steam Deck, and its not like Xbox has titles to push console sales.
I really don't want to see Xbox die, but it certainly has been sick for a long while now. Mismanagement and multiple big title flops seem to have never been figured out.
I've been in a bit of a creative rut since I finished working on some chainmail a few months ago. Kinda hoping to pick up a project, but almost all of mine, creative or otherwise, are on hold temporarily for budget reasons.
Kinda hoping I can see someone else here and get inspired.
