I've been a Chelsea fan ever since I saw their unlikely victory against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League Final. We've had our ups and downs, with an exceptionally poor last season, but it's always been fun to support the Blues. Since the past year or so, however, my love for club football has gone down a bit, with all the insane amount of money being spent, owners trying to sport wash their image and the general corruption involved in the game. I hope some changes are brought to the way football clubs are owned, for example the 50+1 rule followed in Germany. Till then, however, I will probably watch the occasional Chelsea game and hope to be entertained.

It's probably a well-known study tip, but I find that trying to teach a particular topic, whether to another actual person or by pretending you're taking a class has helped me immensely throughout my life. It forces you to not only understand the concept really well, but also to communicate it in a way that someone else can grasp it. This method is particularly helpful in STEM fields, where a deep understanding of the subject is far more important than memorization.

I've currently been reading Indica : A Deep Natural History of the Indian Subcontinent by Pranay Lal. I've lived in India for most of my life and have been fascinated with nature, geography and biology since I could remember, so this book has been a wonderful experience. It is extremely well researched and full of helpful images, and makes me want to explore the many hidden away regions of the country. This book really makes you look closer and wonder more about even the most basic things, such as the rocks and trees that you pass by everyday. I highly recommend this book not just for people living in India, but for enthusiasts of the history of our planet!

Thanks! I just got done with my Master's in Physics where I worked on computational solar physics. I'm looking to pursue my PhD in astrophysics.

    Hello There!
I'm a physics graduate student from India. I'm interested in all things science, technology and programming. Like a bunch of you, I've grown tired of the cesspit Reddit and nearly all other social media have become and sought a space where people could discuss and debate as respectful human beings. I've generally never been active on any of these social media sites, but I'd like that to change with Tildes. I love that every post and even every comment has - and also needs - a lot of thought put into it. I hope to learn more and get to meet some fantastic people here!

As for me, I love playing the guitar and making music, playing and watching soccer (football for you puritans), basketball and cricket, gaming and reading books. I'd really like to try some new hobbies though, so I hope I can gain some inspiration from Tildes. I look forward to getting to know you all!
